Took my lab in for tests with specialist,bill was over 2100. trupanion paid .And now I get email raising monthly rates from 85.00 for 2 dogs to 123.00 .Called and was told they are raising rates for everbody with large dogs. My labs in only 53 pds and golden 43 pds. When I signed up told rates will not increase with age and will only increase if area where i live is more expensive. Haven't moved, but told its a rate increase for all pet owners. then why haven't they raised rates for people I referred to trupanion

Called several times--needed to file first claim. Always and only get voicemail. No human! Callback was within 2 days, but still a hassle. Filed 2 claims--one for my dog that died of cancer. That claim was paid. Other claim for bacterial infection which caused diarrhea and required meds and blood tests--nothing was paid on the claim. Very unhappy. Customer service told me didn't need any info from the vet when submitting my claims, but then both times they requested info directly from my vet, thereby delaying my claim. Really, if you are going to insist on vet records, why not insist on them at the time the claim gets filed? So much unnecessary work for everyone, and then to deny the very basics of claims--infection! I had three dogs enrolled on this plan, but now I think I am wasting my time and money.

Great customer service and support
We switched to Embrace because we were tired of chasing our other pet insurance source. What a difference. The people are terriffic and when our four year old German shepherd was diagnosed with Cancer, and the bills started coming in, Embrace reviewed and paid them quickly. Can't ask for more than that.

Excellent Insurance
I really love this insurance and have advised my vet's office multiple times to spread the word. I have an English Bulldog which is prone to breed specific illnesses and this is the only insurance I could find to cover him. I get 90% of the money back for all covered things and it is very hassle free. The fact that I can fax my claim and have the money within a week is another thing I am great full for. The only thing I'd like is if the actual vet exam was covered if the exam is for an illness or something other than a typical visit.

Excellent Insurance

We couldn't be more pleased!
Our dog, Ollie, just went through his second TTA surgery (both knees). We had Embrace coverage for both of his operations (the first one 2 years ago) and can't be more pleased. There were no surprises with either claim and they paid them quicker than we ever imagined. Beyond that they emailed often checking on Ollie's progress so we felt that not only were we in good hands from an insurance prospective, but were comforted knowing the Embrace folks care and feel a passion for animals. I was skeptical about getting pet insurance at first because I thought "what could ever go wrong?" Well let me tell you that anything and everything can go wrong. I searched the various pet insurance companies and I settled for Trupanion for several reasons. The first was that they would cover 90% of illnesses and accidents, the second being that there wasn't a yearly limit, and the third was the price. Even though the price was comparable, and in some cases lower, to other insurance companies that wasn't what brought me to Trupanion, it was #1 and #2. Now back to why I have had a great experience. My 1 year old female yellow lab came down with diarrhea that lasted for over a week. As other pet owners can attest to, diarrhea for that long can be deadly. I brought my girl to the vet for the initial examination and they ended up taking x-rays, prescribed medication and put her on some gentle food. That didn't totally work so I had to bring her back a second time again for another round of x-rays and different medication. After 8 or so days the diarrhea subsided and my girl was back to full health. As you can imagine the vet bill was costly but worth every dollar spend. I paid both bills in full but it sure was nice to have Trupanion on my side. They indeed paid 90% of the bill associated with the vet visits and didn't nickel and dime me to the point where they didn't pay anything. In fact they paid a great portion of the bill.
