Ripped off !!
My pup was born with a condition that caused her to have urinary incontinence at a very early age. After numerous tests she required a surgery called COLPOSUSPENSION. After spending almost $7000.00 in vet care we submitted our forms to Trupanion to be reimbursed. They denied our claim for coverage. Why???? Because at the age of 10 weeks our puppy had a bladder infection. She had the bladder infection because the tube that runs from her bladder was mis-shaped like a funnel instead of it being a straight tube which is why she required the surgery. Trupanion said it was a pre-existing condition. Well of course it was pre existing you idiots....she was BORN with it!!! COMPLETE RIP OFF!!

Great Company So Far!
We've had Healthy Paws for about 3.5 months and have submitted two claims. They've responded quickly, and have covered exactly what they said they'd cover. I've heard so many horror stories about pet insurance, but this company is a gem (so far). We have a high energy, but very sweet Doberman puppy (all 81 pounds of her), and this insurance gives us some sense of security. I love the yearly deductible, rather than the "per incident" deductible of many insurance companies. We have a $250 deductible and 90% coverage policy. It doesn't cover office visits or the charges for the office visit of a major claim. We've had three visits since buying the policy. The first visit for abrasions applied the prescription to the deductible. The second didn't apply, since it was only an office visit. We didn't even submit it. Our third visit was for a severe toe fracture. This one put us over the deductible. They use the actual vet charges to compute the claim. In less than a day, they processed the claim, and a check is in the mail. Submitting claims by email is very convenient, as well as fast! They respond (automatically) after submitting the claim. The next day they respond personally with the results of the claim. And, they express an attitude of care.

Always kept informed
I appreciate the "Claims Embracers" emails and always being kept informed during the processing of the claim. I am very happy about that and very comfortable with the turn-around time of claims submitted.

BEWARE
Oh, indeed! In fine print they squish CANCER to an "incident" and apply a "cap" of $5,000 to very costly coverage at max $13,000, an $8,000 gap they must know WELL is totally inadequate and deliberately constructed.

Embrace is Great
My first experience with pet insurance has been with Embrace. I was very hesitant about signing up for it, thinking that it would be a waste of time and money. I assumed that any pet insurance company would say that they would cover something, but when it came down to it, they would find a loophole to not pay. Not Embrace. Our dog, who is only 3 years old, unexpectantly started having problems with her legs. Come to find out, she needed surgery on both of her knees. The Embrace staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. They helped us through the whole claims process and in the end, they paid everything that they said they would. I would recommend Embrace to anyone that would do anything for their pet. For myself, I would never be without pet insurance again bewcause I wqould do anything for my dog's health.

simple, generous, hlpful
I only wish people health insurance was as good as Embrace. My claims are acted on quickly and accurately. In addition, they are explained so that I'm clear what I'm getting and why. Also the Wellness system insures that my cats stay healthy because I am encouraged to get care for them because it doesn't cost so much with a Wellness refund. In sum, I'm glad I found Embrace.

Works Pretty Well
I've had the insurance for two years now for two of our dogs. I've found the service to be pretty good. I never like finding they will not cover the full amount I've been charged by our vet, but they've always covered most, if not all, of the charge. The turnaround time on claims being submitted is generally good, but has sometimes been over two months. That's only occured when they had to get more info from the vet and my vet has been slow to comply so not really the insurer's fault. I usually call if it's been too long and I've always been met with helpful service.

WOW,,,,They called to see how our pet was doing..
Our Lulu was having problems and we took her in and learned she had a bladder infection. The claim forms were completed by our vet and all went very smoothly. The most impressive part of the story is we received an email from the CPP (Chief Pet Protector)of HealthyPaws asking how Lulu was doing one week after her visit to the vet. The email was not a form email and we were able to communicate with this person. We were so impressed with the whole experience and Lulu is feeling like herself again! I would strongly recommend HealthyPaws to my friends and family.

Great Communication and Customer Service
This is the first time we've had pet insurance, and we've only had our kittens a few months. We got Embrace at the recommendation of our vet, and have only had one claim so far for Wellness Visits. (The Wellness add-on is a steal if you know you have vaccines, de-worming, or the like to complete with kittens or puppies. For $149 you get $200 of reimbursement without any deductible, so it's free money. I suspect it's worth it to Embrace because it keeps you doing those well-visit exams and is likely to catch small issues before they turn into major problems.) Anyway, given that you can check the status of your claim on the website, I hardly expected to be sent emails when the claim was received, when it was processed, and a follow-up making sure the check had been received. What great service! Would highly recommend -- the claim process was painless and if anything CS seems to overcommunicate -- a good problem to have.
