Good experience
Trupanion handled this claim pretty promptly. The detail of the check was easy to understand. My suggestion is that they should have included the cost of the office visits for this claim since they were only necessary due to the accident. These were not routine wellness visits.

Hate It
Everything is a pre existing condition no matter how many years ago there was an episode. Insurance company makes a diagnosis and declines the visit before the doctor has even written up the exam or findings. Insurance is supposed to give pet owners peace of mind that their pet will be treated in time of need. Instead here a cat was left untreated and undiagnosed for fear by the owners that their cloaim would be rejected. Pitiful! Do not waste your money on these premiums!

I filed 2 claims for my dog's gastroenteritis (which required hospitalization). It took time to get his records from the various vets that have treated him over the years. This was the first claim for this dog, so there were 4 veterinary clinics/hospitals over a period of 9 years. The first time the claim was processed, the wrong dollar figure was used---the invoice was incredibly confusing to read. I called and the customer service person was great, had the error fixed right away. I've been pleased with the customer service every time I have called or emailed with a question.

Excellent insurer.. better than VPI
Excellent insurer. fast response, better coverage than VPI.. One thing however.. WHY doesn't anybody cover WELL pet care (yearly shots, etc)???? THIS we thing would be common sense... if nothing more, to save YOUR company money from preventing well animals from becoming sick!
