Excellent for Rabbits, Easy Claims Service

A fantastic option for rabbits and exotics, as well as cats and dogs. I thought I was being a paranoid nutcase when I got Yogi (a bunny) vet insurance but I can honestly say it was the best decision I've made in years. Whether or not Nationwide's pet insurance is worth it is likely dependent on how many pre-exisiting conditions your pet has. Nationwide is very transparent when you sign up for the 90% of everything coverage plan (Whole pet with wellness). They send you a document listing pre-existing conditions that will be excluded from coverage. It is super important to note that you CAN contest these, and that if a condition has been cured and your animal has not received treatment for it in 6 months, they will remove it as a pre-existing condition. But only if you file for it to be removed. When I signed Yogi up, they listed two pre-existing conditions (soft tissue injury and a food allergy) but I was able to submit further documents to prove these were either no longer applicable or not accurate and now he has no exclusions on his policy! A month after signing up, Yogi developed a antibiotic resistant URI. The vet bills have been astronomical as the vet tried to treat it and rule out other possible causes. And if that wasn't enough, he then had a bout of GI stasis that warranted an emergency room visit. But Nationwide has covered everything. I have never had to debate getting the best possible care for Yogi vs how much I could afford to spend. The claims process is super easy and all of my claims have been approved and paid within 10 days of submission. Seriously so grateful to Nationwide Pet Insurance

Easy to file claim

It's been so easy to file claims online. Upload all your documents and information. They quickly get processed, and a check is usually sent out within a week or two if not sooner. It's such a huge peace of mind to know that I don't have to worry about major medical emergencies or procedures with my insurance. I can give my cats the best care possible knowing that I'll be reimbursed for some if not most of the cost.

Appreciate the promptness of payment.

I appreciate the promptness of payment on a claim. I have always received help when I have to contact the company directly. The agents I have spoken to are knowledgeable and have explained things to me that I didn't understand. As a lay person, that is important.

Health Paws is the best!!!!

My four-year-old lab tore her ACL in her knee and it was a $5000 procedure. Healthy Paws reimbursed me within a matter of days for 80% and they checked in to see how she was doing. I could not ask for a better customer service or a better plan. You may wonder is pet insurance worth it, but when something like this happens it absolutely is. If you’re looking for a pet insurance choose Healthy Paws. Thank you to everyone there.

Totally mislead..

I have Had my 13-year-old lab insured with Pets Best since he was six months old. I found out recently that, although I was told by the Pets Best rep I spoke with when I called to inquire about my largely increasing monthly payments, Years ago , she said if my dog was ever to get cancer, as labs commonly do, as he got older, that he would be completely covered for all of his treatments. I was not aware that there was a cap on each claim of $2500. I Guess I should not have taken her word for it and read the fine print. Every year the amount each month increases largely, and I’ve been paying , thinking as he gets older if he were to get anything like cancer, then we would be covered. I was upset to find out today, that that’s not true. $2500 doesn’t go very far when we’re talking about cancer treatments So because I was so mislead , if my dog does get a chronic serious condition, I will not be able to afford treatment. and I cannot sign up any where else At this point , because he is an older dog and the premium will be completely unaffordable. I spoke with A supervisor but she could not, or would help me with this critical issue.

ASPCA Top Notch in Pet Insurance

I am incredibly pleased with ASPCA pet insurance and recommend them to everyone I know getting a new puppy. We had quite a few bumps and bruises along the way when our puppy was young and the ASPCA was incredibly helpful and accommodating with our insurance needs. We literally had thousands and thousands of dollars in veterinary bills and because of our plan we were only responsible for the first $500. They are quick to process and reimburse you for your claims and even make follow-up calls to check to see how your puppy is doing. I could not be happier with the quality service I have received from the ASPCA.
