Some Problems but Customer Service is Excellent

First they lost the claim I sent it, but I am hoping that is not ordinary practice. They did, however, quickly go through the claims process once they finally figured out it was lost. But apparently the bills I receive from the vet have to be very precise since. For example, after my dog was injured, my bill stated $50 for prior service, which was the vet examining the injury. However, since they assume it's a prior balance owed, I now need to figure out how to get my reimbursement. I don't much care for the reimbursement process and wish that the process resembled my own insurance. Aside from that, they are always extremely friendly, seemingly concerned and very helpful.

Glad Embrace is our pets insurance partner

The customer service is top notch. Quick to get back to you and polite when doing so. I can be a bit too much at times, but the staff is always polite and considerate. Language of the disclosures are not "too legaleez" - I can understand the language. That carries a lot of weight with me. I like it when documents and disclosures are simple to understand.

Regretting this insurance

Thought this would be good to have for a puppy...but it turns out, so little it covered of their routine care, even with the routine ryder, that it just isn't worth the hassle to save maybe $25 / year. I won't recommend this insurance any longer.

time for resolution took very long time

Claim took almost 2 months to be resolve for a small amount of under $100 in the process I was mistakenly charged for a deductible amount when my account had a $0 deductible policy. I was disappointed it took this long. Although they were able to correct the issue, I feel the time that it took was too long and it was not what I expected.

Jacks tumor removal

Jack has been covered with ASPCA insurance since he was a puppy-baby. The tumor that rapidly developed wrapped itself in between the muscle belly and Jack's mobility deteriorated quickly. Our vet recommended surgery, which was very intense. Jack's recovery has been phenomenal! ASPCA processed our claim timely and efficiently. All of our pups have emergency coverage; we would never go without it!

excellent

I have been with VPI previously for approximately 13 years and their insurance plan was good but Trupanion's process is even better.

Fast, thorough and professional

These folks really have the process down! They clearly take an extra effort to prevent confusion with the claims process by getting you prepared in advance. When I did file a claim, it went smooth and quick. The only reason I didn't give a 10 rating was because this is my first claim with them. Great start though!!!

Absolutely horrible

Make sure that you read every letter of the fine print of your agreement, and to be honest I'm not a lawyer nor did I have time. I bought a "puppy care package" from the vet; this amounts to a Pre-payment of services, and because the invoices showed a discount (one that was present because I already paid). This prompted them to extend 0$ of reimbursement. I am currently looking for other options to insure my pet, and I suggest you do the same.
