Everyone needs a Superhero sometimes...
If you are considering pet insurance, I cannot speak more highly of Health Paws Pet Insurance! I adopted Angel "The WonderDog" one year after my mother passed away. They say we rescue animals, but in truth, she rescued me. Angel suddenly fell ill just over a year ago. After a 5day hospital stay, her subsequent treatment needed the attention of an internal specialist. Healthy Paws has promptly processed all claims(most payments within 7 days!), to date totaling well over several thousand dollars. They have covered her x-rays, hospital stays, prescriptions, bloodtests, etc... The staff are very considerate and compassionate. I can honestly say, without Healthy Paws, I would not have had the means to keep my wonderdog, she is my world. Thank you Healthy Paws for your excellent service and kind staff.

Glade I made the purchase.
As a long time dog owner, the big question was to get or not get pet insurance when we purchased our new pups. We had always had dalmation dogs that always had some sort of medical problem and we always payed the bills. Over the life time of both dogs, which each lived over 16 years, I can't even guess the total cost of care over their lifetimes. When we purchased our mixedbreed bulldogs we decided to try Healthy Paws insurance for them, just in case. It's actually something you don't want to have to use and hope your pups are healthy, but there is always a thought something could happen. Well the other day, after 16 months, something did happen. Our one pup Molly couldn't walk. We immediately took her to the vet. They did x-rays, several medical tests and other procedures to figure out what was causing her problem. Before you know it, bills are racking up, but at the time, I really didn't care, I just wanted her better and not suffering. We were finally able to take her home after a long office visit. The vet thought she had the symptons of Rocky Mt. spotted fever,(6 reported cases in our area) the cost of that test alone is expensive. The test came back negative, and he started treating her for what he thought could be a pinched nerve. With the medication he prescribed, she has started to get back to her young self. After looking at the bill and the cost of veternary procedures of molly's visit, I submitted her claim to Healthy Paws. This was the first time I submited a cla

Happy with Trupanion
My vet referred me to Trupanion and I have been happy with them. I have had the policy for 3 years, and they are always helpful when you contact them and are quick to pay the bills. I have referred several friends and they have no complaints either. When I have another pet I will surely be contacting Trupanion.

Best customer service. Covered Addison's Disease
Saffy had been having a recurring digestive issue for a couple of years and no one could figure out what was wrong. Finally they realized it was Addison's Disease which is totally treatable! It took $1500 to figure it out and I was stressed about money! Brad at Pets Best was amazing. There was miscommunication between my vet and Pets Best receiving the correct invoice that they needed. Brad got into direct contact with my vet and solved the problem. I had my money back within two days of the problem being solved! It was amazing. I love Pets Best and Brad!

ASPCA - very disapointed
ASPCA = Horrible insurance! I had to keep this insurance for a few years since my dog developed skin issues after i enrolled him. ASPCA tells you that they pay 80% but forget to mention that is 80% of their pre-calculated costs. For example: I was charged with $60 a vet visit - they are paying you 80% our of $40 only. Another example would be a CBC (blood work) test that costs %191.00 they pay back 80% out of $136.35 (their limit). Luckily since my dog was getting older I decided to get a secondary and tertiary insurance – PetPlan and Trupanion. Let’s not even talk about exclusions code – everything is excluded!!! 3 weeks ago they paid me $20 out of $60 for Baytril and after getting a refill 2 weeks later when they decided that now it was for a different condition and they denied it – REALLY???? You try calling them and talk with them rationally - all what they can tell you is reading from a piece of paper “you exceeded you limit for this condition”. In May we discovered a tumor in my doggy’s spleen. We had the surgery and started him on alternative medicine treatments as homeopathic, holistic and o-zone therapy to not let the cancer come back. I AM SO GRATEFUL I got PetPlan!!! They cover 90% of the actual VET BILL as well as homeopathic, holistic, EVERYTHING!!! It is amazing to see that I am getting my money back. It may take them a bit longer than ASPCA to complete the claims but hey I rather wait an additional week and get my money back. I cannot say much about Trupani
