Fast, Efficient Service

My dog Gracie has had three surgeries. An episioplasty for continual vaginal infections, a ruptured liagment on her right knee and a ruptured ligament on her left knee. Each time Healthy Paws has processed, approved and paid her claims within 72 hours. Gracie was a rescue puppy and not knowing her background I decided to get insurance. It turned out to be a wise choice. If you are considering getting pet insurance look no further. This company has the best customer service I have ever experienced!

Embrace for my Malamute

I have had my pup since he was 9-10 weeks old. He is currently 10.5 months old going on 11 months soon. He had a case of puppy papilloma. Essentially puppy pimples that dogs usually get when they play with other dogs and is normal in a growing well socialized dog once in his early lifetime as he or she will build an immunity to it afterwards is what I have learned. My vet said it should go away on its own naturally or I could use meds to help it along, which I did. Took less than a month to receive money back. Embrace is good because they cover vet bill directly instead of comparing your vet's region for average going price for services you get. They also send me money back for wellness coverage really quick within a week. But the 2 times he has had illness claims they have taken long. the first time was November 7, 2013 and we didn't receive money back until December 8, 2013. So you will get the money just be prepared for a month later. Speed of refund is very important to me so I may look elsewhere in the near future while my dog is still young.

Thank Goodness for Healthy Paws Insurance

Lilly my Boxer chewed and swallowed pieces of a blanket. It got stuck in her jejunum. Lilly became septic and actually died during the first surgery but they were able to bring her back. She did require another surgery, plasma, lot of blood work, lot of medication, and a week stay at the vets hospital. Lilly's bill was just over 4000.00. I could have never afford this without Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. They did not give me any hassle, they handled my claim in just a few days then they mailed me my check and sent e-mails to check on Lilly's recovery. Love you Healthy Paws!

Could have been perfect.

The claim for treatment for cardiac disease was rejected and was received by letter which was extremely upsetting to me. I would suggest in future notify the owner by phone and provide some options sush as to appeal. Once the claim was accepted, the results were excellent. I certainly have had many claims over the 8 years and the payments have been timely and verbal communication has been excellent.

Don't bother!

I have been paying $44.+ for some time now. Never made a claim until recently My dog got some sort of skin abrasion that cultured to be a staph infection. Because he had some sort of mention of a skin infection prior (totally non related), they said it was a "pre-existing" condition. NOT!! I even have a veterinarians note to them that it was totally non related. Beware of them pinning everything on a "pre-existing" condition. Just an FYI----their payout to me, after deductible, etc. likely would be around $50 dollars. I have now cancelled my insurance so it really wasn't in the best interest overall. Don't get it!!!

They came through when I needed them

I got my cat from a rescue shelter three years ago. She was looked at and got her shots etc. Her first year she was shy then her second she adapted and became curious and playful and loving. This third year I noticed a decrease in her activity and she was irritable at times swiping and yeowling. I am unable to get out to a vet and had to use the only one in my area that comes out to pick up the cat. I NEVER pick up my cat as she does not like that so I also could not get her in a carrier. The Cat Clinic took care of all that. They did a marvelous job with Suzie BUT the cost was prohibitive at 2700 dollars. You see she had gum and tooth problems and needed her teeth removed. She had four hours of surgery poor girl. Well I paid the vet and took a chance filing with Trupanion. I was not sure if any of Suzie's procedures would be covered but was amazed, pleased and thrilled to find Trupanion covered almost 1700 dollars worth of her vet bill. They were pleasant to deal with and very efficient. NO hassles at all. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone with a pet. It was certainly worth it to me and I will be sticking with them for sure. Check them out - you will not be sorry!

Female Urinary Tract Infection - Suspect Diabetes

We caught her peeing on the christmas tree.. she wasn't playing like she used to. We took her into a Emergancy hospital on a weekend. We had no money. If it wasn't for Trupanion insurance we signed her up for just a month previous this entire endeavor would have costed over 700$. After our deductible we paid 200$. I'm glad we didn't have to make any hard decisions about her health! all tests came back clear and shes a happy playing kitty again. Best part is if this happens again.. shes still covered and we don't have to pay the deductible again. Also now our vet is signed up to only charge us 10% and re-imburse themselves on our behalf thru Trupanion. Very Happy.
