I am not new to Trupanion
I am not new to Trupanion, but Teddy my newly adopted dog is. Shiloh was a member until he had to be put to sleep in January. Your company was always good to work with and protected me from many expensive bills. Shiloh had IBS and some of his meds were extremely costly. As I am retired and on a fixed income, it was a great relief to have your backing in paying for his health care needs. I am hoping Teddy is less prone to illness - as a mixed breed that may be true - but I know I have you to help us financially through any rough times when and if they occur in the future. Thank you!

I don't remember her name but the lady who helped me seemed to really care about me and my dog and that I had peace of mind. She was very knowledgeable and made everything easy to understand and gave me all the options without pushing me towards anything. Very genuine

They are scammers
They are scammers! They scammed me out of 3 months of payments. I cancelled my policy soon after opening it and they refuse to refund me for the 3 months I’ve been charged. Months are for November December and January. I was told I’d get a “REFUND “ and still haven’t received it. STAY AWAY!!! They will steal your money!

Don't use Trupanion
I completely agree with the other 1-star reviews. This company is nearly impossible to reach. I've spent over an hour just waiting on hold to speak with someone. While they offer a callback option, it’s not much help—you’re still stuck waiting since you don’t want to miss their call and start the process all over again. To make matters worse, they mishandled my cancellation and only issued a partial refund. The good news? There are other companies that offer better service at a lower price. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Decent but its still an insurance company, you cant expect it to be amazing
Submitting estimates is quite easy and approval usually happens quickly which is nice. I would be much more likely to recommend SPOT if the yearly deductible was rolling somehow rather than based on signup date. Pet incidents do not revolve around arbitrary dates. Also the fact that you cannot go down a reimbursement level (to reduce your monthly premium) without locking your ability to go back up in the future is unnecessarily cost restrictive for people on variable incomes. At most there should just be a limit on how often you can switch.

Terrible company
This is the worse insurance company I've ever had. They have terrible customer service, they take months to give you your money back from a claim and won't cancel you when you ask them to. I was fed up with their terrible customer service, and waiting months to get my claim money back, so I asked them on the phone in January to cancel my policy. They said they would and they sent me an email to submit a cancellation request. I filled it out and sent it back. In February I was charged $80 for my policy that should have already been cancelled. I call in to ask about it and the lady says, " Oh yeah that's so weird. It looks like that policy was cancelled but a new one was opened and that's why you were charged this month." I told her I cancelled my policy completely with y'all and nothing should be active. I never opened a new one. She said " I will make sure everything is cancelled and we will refund you that money." So they sent me another cancellation request email to fill out and I did. I've been waiting 5 days now to get money that was taken from me without approval. Which made me negative in my bank account because I didn't have $80 to spend in the first place. These people will be rude to you on the phone, not cancel your policy when you ask them to, not give you your money back for a claim until months later, and steal money from you without consent. Terrible company, terrible insurance, terrible customer service. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend to anyone. This company only cares about money, not you.

We are so thankful for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance ! We’ve been using them for the past 9.5 years for our Bernese Mountain Dog who will be ten in May! We credit his longevity to Healthy Paws as he’s unfortunately required multiple surgeries over the years. Healthy Paws has stood by his side each time and we are so grateful for them. We love our pup so much and we are so thankful Healthy Paws does too. Cannot recommend them enough!
