Excellent Customer Service
We just completed a claim with Healthy Paws for an emergency operation for our 8 month old chocolate lab. She had a piece of a chew rope stuck in her tummy and it rotted away about 5 inches of intestine. Honestly, I expected reimbursement to be a bit of a battle. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The claim process was easy, customer service was not only friendly and helpful, but genuinely concerned about the health of my lab baby. We received the claim in about a week. I would highly recommend pet insurance by Healthy Paws!

Unfortunate surprise from Embrace
I had Embrace cover all 3 of my pets for over 2 years. I filed a claim when I had to take one of my cats in for a urinary tract issue. It took a few months for my claim to be processed and when I finally contacted them about it, they needed more medical records regarding both cats. After several weeks, I contacted them again and my claim was denied. The OTHER cat had been vaccinated for FIV and had the antibodies in his system. I had documentation that showed he had indeed been vaccinated. Apparently, this was considered a pre-existing condition and Embrace couldn't be sure that he didn't actually have FIV. And FIV is contagious, and the cat with the urinary tract issue could have had that problem due to the FIV that the other cat MAY have. Bottom line, the claim was denied. They then cancelled the portion of my insurance dealing with health issues, but left intact the accident part of the insurance. To their credit, they did refund the portion of the insurance I paid that dealt with health issues. I decided to cancel all of it because my boys are indoor, and although they can still have accidents, I would probably be better off just paying out of pocket. Any other health issues are not covered anyway. So no cancer, diabetes, thyroid, etc...

Easy claim filing and rapid payment
I've had Pets' Best for about four years, and among other miscellaneous claims have had to cruciate ligament claims. Both were honored per the disclosure, direct-deposit payments were fast, and claims were easy (and got even easier with the second injury, via simple on-line form submittable). I have not had pet insurance with another company, so I can't offer a first-hand comparison, but I also haven't wanted to go to another insurer. For what it's worth, a coworker had originally recommended Pets' Best to me, based on his good experiences. I wrote a brief synopsis of what led me to choosing to buy (non-company specific) pet insurance in the first place, available to view at http://www.infobarrel.com/How_Pet_Insurance_Helped_Save_My_Dogs_Leg_Twice

Prices climb by age if pup and loopholes
My dog has been covered by Pets Best since I got her as a puppy. The monthly price has increased 100%. + in 7 years. I'm paying for wellness and vet care and they keep changing the deductible and what they cover. Although I pay for wellness they deny coverage for parasites! No heart worm coverage, no giardia coverage , no flea coverage! Dogs die from heart worm disease yet they won't cover it? My dog has had very few claims and yet they charge over 125/mo for my dog! I wonder where to turn?!

Love trupanion
Our dog had surgery last December(2013) and then needed to take joint supplements on a regular basis. Everytime we go to the vet to pick up her supplements, we receive an email shortly after that the claim went through and then we receive the check shortly after. The customer service is great. Anytime I have had to call everyone was so helpful.

Healthy Paws Keeps my dogs Healthy!
Let me tell you why I love Healthy Paws. I have a 7 year old mastiff mix named Nico. Nico is our "bubble" dog. He is allergic to everything. He has a heart murmur and another mild congenital heart condition. Nico has arthritis in his spine, which is causing mild compression on the nerves. This leaves him with weakness in his hind legs and some discomfort. Because of Healthy Paws, I was able to afford the MRI to diagnose his hind legs and holistic treatment to help Nico with his spine issues since surgery is not an option. Most recently, he had a mast cell tumor on his neck. Surgery was performed and the tumor was removed (came back Grade 1, so no further treatment needed). These were all costly procedures and I love that Healthy Paws always turn around their claims in a matter of days so I can pay off my credit card quickly without accruing interest. I think the most I have had to wait after submitting a claim was 4 days, but usually I get notice within 2 days of submittable that my check is on it's way. As all pet owners know, the bigger the pet, the more costly medication will be since it's all based on weight. Nico is 150lbs so you can imagine how much his pain medications/antibiotics can be when he gets sick! Healthy Paws makes it possible for me to afford Nico the best veterinary care, and I never have to worry "can I afford it"? Their customer service amazes me. Every time I have contacted them I have been treated kindly and they always follow up after a claim to see how Nico is doing. This company is very professional and gives me peace of mind that I can afford to treat my pet if anything happens to him.

Speedy Service & Compassionate Insurance Company
I have heard awful reviews about many Pet Insurance companies, until I found Healthy Paws. Healthy Paws was recommended to me by a friend which helped make my decision easy. I thought I would never have to make a claim. That was until my fur baby, Olivia, started vomiting for days. We couldn't figure it out, she would never do it in front of us, only at night while we slept. After 2 vet visits and switching her food, none of which permanently made her better, her vet said she needed an Ultrasound. When I looked through her policy to see if it would be covered, I was so happy to find it was. I never submitted a policy before so I called Healthy Paws Customer Service team to figure out how I would go about submitting a claim. I was pleasantly greeted on the phone and was assisted through the process. After I submitted my claim, I only had to wait a few days to hear back and within two weeks was reimbursed. To top it off they even followed up to see how my fur baby was feeling. I am so happy with my decision to choose Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. If you are shopping for pet insurance, definitely take a look at Healthy Paws, I did and it was the best decision I could make. Thank you Healthy Paws! Love, Jessica & Olivia
