Best insurance choice

As a previous VPI customer, I can truly see the excellent value of Healthy Paws. Not a month after making the switch from VPI my mixed breed tore her cruciate ligament and meniscus. Without any hesitation, Healthy Paws sent me a check to cover 80 percent of the close to $3000 surgery. When I adopted my rescue dog I got Healthy Paws immediately. Luckily I was covered when about a month later my vet discovered Mandy had liver disease. Healthy Paws covered 80 percent of all her labs and her monthly medications. Mandy also ended up with Demodex mange which was also covered. Without Healthy Paws, our pets would have created a financial disaster. Without a pay schedule like what VPI has, our bills were truly covered-not what an insurance company tells me what a vet should charge. My family is truly thankful for Healthy Paws and highly recommend them to anyone.

Best Pet Insurance Company

My dog, Zeus, is a rescue, and we adopted him in 2011 when he was just under 2 years old. He was vibrant and healthy up until the fall of 2013, when it was discovered that Zeus had a serious, chronic, autoimmune liver disease with a guarded prognosis. He underwent an ultrasound and a liver biopsy to confirm his diagnosis. Since then he has required a large number of expensive medications, and monthly blood draws to check his liver enzymes and adjust medications as needed. To be honest, I don't know how we would manage without Healthy Paws. Zeus is doing well right now, and the Healthy Paws folks send me e-mails asking how he is doing, which I appreciate so much. My claims are handled quickly without any hassle, and the staff is readily available if I have any questions. Without a doubt, this is the best pet insurance company I have ever worked with! When my baby developed this life challenging illness, I realized what it was going to take to keep him as healthy as possible. I am so glad we chose Healthy Paws over other pet insurance we looked out. Thank you, Healthy Paws!

Trupanion is Awesome!!!

Having extensively researched many pet insurances, comparing and reading reviews, we decided on Trupanion. We didn't think we would be taking advantage of it before our puppy turned 2 since she didn't go through the chewing stages that many of our others did in the past. She initially showed signs of a bladder infection, but after a day of no improvement with medication and symptoms worsening, the vet confirmed it was more serious and had to be resolved immediately. Emergency surgery was performed as one of the three stones removed proved to be life threatening. Upon payment settlement to our vets and establishments, we submitted the paperwork and total claim of $2,557.89 bill and after the $400 deductible (we chose which is another fantastic option), the $203 items not covered (which is spelled out when you apply)they paid us $1,759.40 (90% as promised) which is more than any other insurance would provide!! Even better, we faxed our paperwork on a 11/10 and received an email confirmation the same day, we received a followup email on 11/11 to indicate they were verifying, and another email 11/17 to confirm that payment was issued! ONE WEEK!! While we hope it's a LONG time before the next vet visit, we know we can count on them to help us provide the best possible care for our little dog!!

Pet insurance review

I am giving Trupanion an overall rating of 8 because the claims I have presented have been handled in an efficient and professional manner. What I don't like about the policy is that every different diagnosis (i.e., stomach ache v. laceration) has its own deductible. In other words, the deductible has to be met for every injury/illness each year.

It's a big help

I've had this policy for six years for my six year old Yorkie, Maggie. She recently had a severe stomach upset which left her ill for several days. We were back and forth to the vet for xrays, blood work to rule out a more serious condition. Thankfully she recovered completely and returned to normal. I submitted several claims (forms are easy to use) and faxed them in. The claims were processed promptly and I received checks for each claim. I also received emails and a follow up call which was nice. I have been happy with this policy. It just a little peace of mind to know I have it.

The Best Investment

We can't say enough about what a great decision it was to purchase Healthy Paws insurance for our two dogs. One of the dogs has had chronic urinary tract infections and we've become regular customers at the vet. Healthy Paws lived up to everything they said they would with great coverage and service. The Healthy Paws coverage has really made the difference in giving our dog the best care possible.
