You all are the best of the very best...

Tumi, our cat had been vomiting his food for the longest time.He was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. My wife and I finally came accrosed Dr. John R. Wallace, DVM (Medical Director, VCA Spring Mountain Animal Hospital). Dr. Wallace knew exactly how to treat Tumi because he has a cat of his own that suffers from the same. Who better than Dr. Wallace.

Extremely Pleased

Pets Best has been great to work with. I obtained coverage for my 3.5 pound Yorkie when she was just over a year old, and am certainly glad I did! The investment in the plan is well worth the return! They process claims fast, nothing is hidden, great coverage, and the ease of use via their website can't be any easier. I submit my claim online, and have the money deposited via direct deposit within a week!

Satisfaction Garanteed!

I have had to submit two claims with Trupanion so far. Each claim was processed in a timely fashion and the staff at Trupanion were so helpful, kind and considerate. I would recommend them 110%!

denied, appealed, covered

I had my dog examined 7 days after my policy took effect because he had been coughing for a few days and it was only getting worse. To be exact, the coughing had been noticeable 2-3 days after the policy started, I watched it for a few days, then had a doctor look at him. He was diagnosed with Blastomycosis after diagnostic tests were performed. Trupanion initially denied my claim. They stated a policy exclusion that my dogs 'signs or symptoms could have been observable or reasonably noticed my myself or my vet' before I actually had him examined or noted his signs of being sick. I am a vet tech and work at a hospital, so I was able to have my dog looked at as soon as anything was noticeably wrong with him, so Trupanion's reasoning behind denying my claim was extremely stressful and frustrating. I had my dog looked at when I noticed something wrong, not like I waited for my insurance to start before I got care for him. I appealed the claim, at which point Trupanion asked for more detailed records and a note from the doctor. It annoyed me that they asked for more information after already denying the claim and me appealing it. They denied covering his illness again, but had a staff veterinarian call me to discuss my dogs case. It didn't take long talking to the veterinarian to decide that they should cover my dogs illness and the appeal would be overturned. She was very nice and tried to explain why my claim was denied so quickly. Basically because my dogs illness was so close to when my policy started, from an insurance perspective, I could have been waiting for it to start before getting care for my dog. Also, they try to close claims as quickly as possible. While I understood what she told me, it still frustrated me that they simply denied my claim before knowing all the information that was necessary to make the right decision. In the end, it all worked out, but I had to be proactive and deal with the stress of settling the claims for my dogs illness.

Very satisfied

Our kitty had to have emergency surgery after swallowing a small rubber cap on a feather toy, which resulted in an obstructed intestine. We filed our claims with Healthy Paws and they processed them within a week. Their app is very user friendly (just take a photo of the bills and upload), and they covered a substantial portion of the cost, including the X-rays prior to surgery, the surgery itself, and kitty's hospital stay without any quibbling. There was no despair trying to correspond with an actual human being, and the customer service representative responded to our inquiries promptly and courteously.Healthy Paws really came through and lived up to their promises. Why can't health insurers for humans figure out how to do this?

Good product

The claim was processed quickly and easily. They even did much of the legwork on their own to finish the paperwork. I had four separate events on the same claim, using three different vets. They reimbursed exactly as described in the policy and the premium has been well worth the money.

Wellcare benefits are not good

The filing process is great and the reimbursement very prompt, but I wish the reimbursements were higher. While I am thankful my dog does not generally require more significant services, paying $50 on a $202.50 claim is not great. It only pays $25 per year for Heartguard and Frontline products.
