So far, So Good!

I adopted a dog 7 months ago, and bought insurance for the first time. So far I have been very pleased with Embrace. I send in my claims through my vet, and they have always paid some portion on each claim. If I added up my premiums, and then looked at what they have reimbursed, at this point I could have probably banked the premiums myself, and come out put them towards my vet bills. BUT that is not what insurance is about. Insurance is that peace of mind that if something goes really wrong, you won't have to make a decision about your pet's life based on your finances because Embrace will be there to help you. My minor claims so far have been handled fairly and promptly by Embrace, and with gracious customer service when I have had questions.

Amazing

Such a great insurance company. All claims were updated quickly and this is a company that actually cares for your pets wellbeing. My French bulldog puppy had to go through surgery and it was a very tough experience. The bills came and they were very high. Healthy Paws in less than a week covered them and issued a check. I would recommend this insurance company to anyone.

First claim was fast and easy

Took about a week, but Trupanion paid out as advertised. I like that there is no vet schedule. I live in Dallas, and vet care can be expensive. The 90% payment is amazing. Much better than VPI.

Nice.

Our dog had a run in with 2 Pit Bulls. What a relief to know that insurance was in place. Normally this is an expense that never would of made it to my books. But after that incident, we will never be without pet insurance. Embrace was the first company and will be the last. They are always right on time and very helpful. Thank you Embrace for helping me provide the best and affordable care for my baby.

They are the the best! I love them!

I've had them for over 5 years now and they've paid out about $20,000 in claims for my dog. My old Great Dane-Rottweiler mix is...danger prone. He just seems to develop issues. They've paid to fix tears, gastro issues, ultra sounds to explore his sudden neurological issues, physical therapy, all kinds of stuff. A few nights ago he starts panting, dry heaving, looking uncomfortable. Yep, bloat. Since then we've had emergency surgery to fix the bloat, then a gastroplexy to staple the tummy down to prevent it happening again, then while we are in oops remove the spleen. Then he got a post surgery infection. So $2,700 for the 1st surgery, Another $4,500 for the 2nd round. $1,400 for the emergency infection. And now he's back in today for another who $1,000+ followup ultrasound to see if it was the surgery that got infected or just a routine bladder thing. Do you have an extra $10,000 just sitting there handy to spend on your sweet old dog? I got Healthy Paws when the economy tanked and I lost my job because I didn't want to have to make a scary decision. I researched the heck out of insurance. Now I'll never have a pet without them. The other thing I like is they are actually human - none of that faux customer service with canned responses. You actually get people sending you real emails. It's nice. Once I hadn't cashed the checks and they reached out to me to find out why and reissued them. How cool is that? I tell every pet owner I know. Even my vet now tells everyone because they've seen the other insurances deny so many things. The website is well designed too.

Fast and direct!

I started insuring my adult dog Parker ~8 months ago after adopting him from a shelter. Unfortunately he injured his knee while playing at the park and required an expensive orthopedic surgery! Western Veterinary Specialists submitted a pre-approval form and we received the result within a day or two that everything would be covered! Parker had surgery soon after and Trupanion reimbursed the hospital so I wouldn't have to pay the whole bill up front. I've had to purchase some follow up medication from my family veterinarian and I received approval for that quickly as well. Thank you Trupanion for pushing everything through so quickly so that I wouldn't have to worry about the stress of making phone calls, etc while dealing with the already stressful situation of a large dog having orthopedic surgery.
