Amazing amazing!
My poor girl Maia was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. Trupanion has been wonderful. Anytime I called the people were pleasant and caring. My claims were filed very quickly and my checks were sent within a few weeks. This was my first time that I had to submit a claim ao I didn't know what to expect but they have made this process so much easier . Pet insurance is an absolute necessity for people who treat their pets like family.

I am sad to say that my cat has a sarcoma. I was shocked that my claim was approved in probably 48 hours. I had a check in my mailbox 4 days after it was emailed to them. I couldn't be happier with them!

Can do better
Embrace does not cover for pre-conditions, so I don't know why one customer said Embrace did for her dog. If that's the case, than Embrace can cover my kitten! Embrace is NOT speedy with payments, it takes a long time before you are reimbursed. As far as the amount of well-care for your pet's, it's not enough to last one year's worth! Embrace only does a good job if your pet has a accident, than for your peace of mind are you taking care of.

Romeo's surgery
Shortly after enrolling my Yorkie, he was diagnosed with AAI. He required surgery which includes X-rays, MRI and ICU care post-op care. It was expensive, $7,000. The claims were paid on time, there was email sent to let us know when Trupanion received the claim and shortly email was sent to let us know the amount covered. Staff is friendly and professional. I'm so pleased our vet introduced me to Trupanion.

More than fair in the appeal process.
My dog had surgery for a ruptured disc prior to obtaining insurance. After spending long hours at the Specialty Emergency Hospital with our dog & seeing all the accident & illness coming through the door we decided to get insurance for her & called Trupanion since that seemed to be the company used there. Since she had one ruptured disc we wondered if another would be covered & ask that question & discussed it with a representative on a couple different recorded calls. We were told that if it was a different disc than the one that previously ruptured it would be covered. Well unfortunately our dog did have another ruptured disc(different one)! The claim was denied because it was considered to be an illness that existed prior to coverage. We resubmitted it with a statement from the surgeon that it was a different disc. Again it was denied. We appealed based on what we were told on the recorded phone calls. During the appeal process they listened to the recorded phone calls & agreed that although it was a condition that existed prior per there policy, they would pay the claim since we were told otherwise by their representative on the phone. We received a check a week later. I would have to say that they were more than fair about that since the policy itself using other examples could indicate otherwise which is why we ask. Even though I know that they won't cover any further disc ruptures, I do still have the insurance because I do feel confident that they will pay if other health problems arise.
