$51 rate hike was quite a shock!!
I have Trupanion for my two dogs. I had one rate hike for $20/month, which I did not feel was out of line. Now I just got a rate hike of $51/month. With all the statements about rates not being raised because of the dogs' age or the number of claims, I never expected to face a rate hike of this amount. I was told it was to keep in line with the cost of pet care. Since you are committed once you have the insurance because of "existing conditions" preventing full coverage with someone else, take care before you insure with Trupanion.

I don't know what to say.
I guess it was my own fault, but I did not realized that I had only a $2,500 limit on my cat's diabetes claims. I have now reached that limit and pets Best will no longer pay anything toward "Phil's" diabetes expenses. I guess that is a typical limit for other insurance companies too; however, it is devastating news for me. He is about 12 or 13 years old and the sweetest cat ever. He requires 6 units of insulin twice daily as well as periodic testing and Rx food, in addition to his wellness treatment. I can no longer afford to pay his bills without the insurance help and I don't know what I'm going to do.

Amazing Customer Service and Claim Handling
My lab ended up in emergency care for vomiting. She had consumed some plastic and sticks. The vet performed X-rays and held her over night in case emergency surgery was required due to a blockage. Having Healthy Paws insurance helped to ease some of the stress of the day. The customer service team took care of my claim right away. It is amazing how fast they handled everything. The reimbursement arrived in less than a week. What really impressed me today was a follow up email to see how my dog is doing. I am truly impressed by the service and commitment to their customers. I tell anyone who will listen to get Healthy Paws!

Thrilled with Embrace! Thank you!
My 7.5 year old Lucy had a bad cruciate tear that came out of no where and it was heart wrenching to see her hop around on three legs. We tried therapy, laser, medication and surgery was our last resort. Thankfully we had both Wellness and Sickness on our policy. Both my husband and I were thrilled with the insurance coverage. Our bills were about $4000 and we were covered at 80%. I called Embrace prior to the surgery and they reviewed my coverage and I was so relieved that I had taken it out. It took less then two weeks for my reimbursement. I highly recommend this coverage and I know that my three babies Lucy, Bella and Tiger are in good hands!

MAKES PET OWNERSHIP EASY AND FUN
Healthy Paws pet insurance is truly the best and easy to work with. It makes dog/cat ownership easy and not stressfull. If you are like my wife and I. You treat your dogs/cats like kids. Spoil them, let them sleep in the bed,Well I do :), take them on walks. So when your kid would get sick or break bone. Would you have second thoughts on getting them help because of the cost no. You have insurance you go get what ever wrong fixed and go on with your day. That's what Healthy paws does for you. Makes the hard decision of taking a pet in because of the cost because they make it more manageable to be able to afford the big ticket items that some people have to put there pets down for. Hands down the best decision I have made in a long time and would recommend to any one with a dog or cat. That you will be happy you did it in the long run.

We pay monthly for our pet insurance with Trupanion. Our ten year old lab needs to have two teeth possibly extracted and because the dog had "mild gingivitis" two months before signing up over two years ago, they are denying the claim because it was "pre existing". Very nice customer service, all while telling you "sorry.... can't help you." We got trupanion to help us with big, unexpected bills such as this, and they left us high and dry.
