Great Insurance
Our Dog Ellie Belle was chewing on a Sego Palm plant while in Florida. After a few hours she became very lethargic and had major diarrhea. We rushed her off to the Emergency Vet who started an IV and treated her with charcoal and various antibiotics as the Sego Palm is lethal to 50% of all dogs who ingest the plant. The time to handle the claim was longer than expected, but that was due to our travel time and communications with the vets. Also we didn't follow the procedure of bringing a claim for to the Vet and having hem do the claim form while we were there.

Eastern Medicine to an Older Dog's Rescue
Thanks to Embrace I have a new weapon in the tool-kit to help my 12 year old husky-mix enjoy his elder years. Morgan has had a bad back for a few years now and despite our efforts to find a reason — MRI, spinal tap, etc. — he occasionally needs total bed rest for a "bad back". Not being able to enjoy his long hikes with his Daddy anymore brought us to try something new, acupuncture. Thank goodness embrace covers it because it is expensive. He has had two treatments so far and we can already see he gets relief from his pain and may even improve. Thanks Embrace!!!! Cristina aka Morgan's Momma

Used to be great...not anymore
I have been with Pets Best for almost 6 years. I went with them because of the great reviews at the time. We were just getting a new puppy, and figured pet insurance is something we should have. In the meantime, we have also added our 14 year old cat and a new puppy we got 8 months ago. In the past, we have had no problems with reimbursements, and the insurance for each pet per year was about $200-300, which was acceptable. This year, they changed undewriters, and our insurance went up to $800-$1000 each year per pet. In addition, the reimbursements are taking longer and are more complicated. I will be shopping around for another insurance company.

Awesome service and quick refunds
I've been really happy with the customer service from Trupanion. Once I met the deductible for my dog's condition, they have been refunding me at 90% very quickly. The only issue is for every illness, it is a different deductible.

Better than nothing
Embrace seems to be oblivious to the fact that dogs that swim sometimes develop ear problems that have nothing to do with allergies, and making that category of ear issues a preexisting condition for unrelated skin issues makes no logical sense whatsoever. They also don't seem to understand the difference between notes and a diagnosis. Let me state up front that I have no problem with the "preexisting conditions" clause, as long as it's truly a preexisting condition. What I am referring to here is the Embrace taking a very long stretch to tie things together that are not true preexisting conditions, and then using that as an reason to not pay claims. In May 2013 my vet noted a mild irritation in my flatcoated retriever's ears. He never received any diagnosis or treatment, and I corrected it by cleaning his ears. No problem. In April 2014 my dog developed an infection on one leg and an irritated place of unknown origin on another foot, which we treated. When I submitted the claim Embrace first rejected it because of the note about an ear irritation in 2013, which had nothing at all to do with what was going on this past April. The vet had to write several letters to Embrace that were very clear that the ear irritation in 2013 and the infection and irritation on the foot were unrelated, and Embrance eventually paid off on the infection but not on the unknown irritation. Now Embrace has "reset the calendar" on ANY skin or ear problems. Anything that hap

HEALTHY PAWS was the BEST Decision!
If you are considering insurance for your pet, go with Healthy Paws! We enrolled when our lab was just 3 months old. Each time I have sent in a claim, large or small, I receive a friendly email and receive a check within a few days. Recently, our 18 month old lab was diagnosed with a torn ligament in her knee (very common). She needed a VERY expensive $5,000 surgery to repair her knee. After submitting the claim, we were reimbursed for 90% of the cost and received our reimbursement check in a matter of days! If I have questions, I always get a live person on the phone who is both knowledgeable and friendly! Healthy Paws is a lifesaver...BEST DECISION we made for our fur baby!

Worth the peace of mind
Earlier this month, my 5 month old puppy was vomiting up giant globs of mucus all night long, then was fine during the day. It took a few vet trips to figure out that he had swallowed a foreign object that was trapped in his stomach. We got him in for endoscopic surgery ASAP and on the road to recovery but it was extremely stressful between a sad puppy, messes of bodily fluids, days of sleep deprivation, and the possibility of invasive surgery if things didn't go well. The one stress I NEVER HAD was how I was going to afford the medical care. This enabled me to makefast decisions and get puppy the surgery he needed before any more complications arose. What would have been a ~$1500 weekend ended up costing about $250. The claims were processed quickly and covered everything as expected. The calculations of coverage are clearly spelled out and people were easily accessible on the phone when I had questions. The check came in time to pay off the credit card bill for the surgery. I have been recommending Healthy Paws to all of my friends/family, particularly those with puppies as they don't always make the best decisions. I am so glad I made the decision to protect Bowser.

Very relieved to have Embrace insurance.
I recently had to take my one year old dog to a pet hospital due to illness and the bill was over $1700 for an overnight stay, tests, meds and doctor fees. Embrace reviewed the claim and emailed me to inform me that they were going to reimburse 80% of the bill within a week of the claim submission. I am very happy and relieved to know that we don't have to carry the burden of wondering if we can afford to get the best care for our dog!
