Always So Simple, we love Embrace. Thanks!
Our Dane, Harley, started gagging and heaving like she needed to vomit but didn't. Not the norm for her. I rubbed her throat, tried to get her to drink some water, maybe she had a piece of kibble stuck. Then I decided to feel her stomach. It was rock hard. I was fairly certain her stomach had twisted and it was some type of gastric torsion - known as bloat - that happened. We rushed her to the nearest emergency vet and let them take care of her. She made it through surgery but they had to remove her spleen b/c of the damage due to lack of blood flow. She had to stay at the Emergency vet for 2 1/2 days and they charge by the hour. The best part of this scary experience is that we didn't have to worry about the huge bill. My husband came home that night concerned about the estimate he was given for the surgery, stay, etc. $3400 - $4500. I told him with confidence we have to meet the deductible we chose then we only pay 10% of the remaining covered charges. This isn't the first time I've had to file claims. The process is quick and easy from start to finish. The vet filled out the form and faxed it for me with the invoice/bill, I got an email the next day, and today I got an email that I'd be reimbursed for $3580 of the $4427 I was billed. I'm extremely pleased. We paid the deductible and 10%. It took 8 business days from the day they received the claim. Thanks again, Embrace.

The worst
Another contrived denial for an exam performed right before infusion by my dog's oncologist. This on the heels of denying a life threatening spay for pyometra although the dog was enrolled at age 7 with clear representation that she was intact, but not breeding or service/therapy dog which requires a rider, and in the face of a phone call and letter from the vet. Please tell me how you can inject drugs into a dog without examining him first. The bottom line is that half of the bill is denied, then they pay 90% of the balance. That makes the real payment 40% on an ongoing basis because no vet in their right mind would treat a dog with chemotherapy (or anything for that matter) without examining. Moreover, not every exam involves blood work or x-rays, which they would probably deny as well. Sometimes it involves manual examination, which was the way we found my last dog's lymphoma. By their rules, that would be denied every time the doctor checked him to see if the nodes were swollen, a primary diagnostic tool for this kind of cancer. I think their advertising is fraudulent and misleading. I really dislike this company.

Excellent service and care
Trupanion was great through the whole month of August in dealing with our cat Jack's sickness. We brought him in because he was not eating. We had exploratory surgery and did Biopsies to see what the problem may have been and Trupanion was great-working with our Vet and processing the claim immediately and covering the expenses at 90%. I would refer Trupanion to anyone looking for Pet Insurance.

Better Coverage and Service than you would expect!
I recently used our Healthy Paws insurance to pay for emergency vet care as my cat was having difficulty breathing over Labor Day weekend. The bill was for over $3,500 and HP honored their coverage without any problems, delay or argument. Claims are easy to submit and they send a straightforward claim explanation with each one. If only health insurance coverage for people could be so great..I could not say enough good things about HPaws. Excellent customer service as well.

Quick claim payment, no hassels
My 3-yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi started having seizures and was evaluated through physical examination, blood work, and an MRI. Trupanion paid 90% of costs of the blood tests, MRI, and anti-seizure medication, which totaled over $2K. I simply called Trupanion to submit the claim and emailed copies of the invoices. I was responsible for a $100/illness deductible, 10% of the covered costs, and the physical examination costs. Trupanion processed my claim very quickly, and their claims personnel were very polite, understanding, and helpful.

This IS the BEST pet insurance.
My dog was very ill and needed to be seen by the vet. There was lab testing and x-rays. Then all the medications. I spent over $500.00. I turned in my claim the day of the visit. Ten days later the reimbursement was back in my checking account. Pets Best is the easiest and fastest pet insurance I have used. I have had several dogs and used "other" pet insurance. I recommend this to all my friends and family.

OK, so, granted, I chose Trupanion and they have reimbursed us a lot of money for our dog that suffers sever allergies. And that has been good. They have a direct deposit for claims and claims are handled very quickly. Another good thing about them. We have 2 dogs, one is young the other not. Our biggest gripe is They ONLY cover dental extractions, so the anesthesia and cleanings are always out of pocket, though cleanings prevent extractions, so go figure. Customer Service is cheerful as long as everything goes quickly and smoothly. Also, often the reps talk at you. Like a car salesman, they don't really want to slow down and hear the customer. connecting to a client is good, but if the rep does not sympathize, that;s fine, just don't make the client feel like they're wasting your time. As soon as a problem arises, they become curt and rush you off the phone. not cool.
