You Don't Get What You Think
ASPCA pays 90% of the AVERAGE cost of treatment for the area in which you live. After submitting claims from 4 different vets in 3 different locations, I was displeased to find everyone of them was considered well above average. As a result, the payout was closer to 75% than the 90% I expected.

Pretty bad experience with Embrace
Writing a review here because Embrace asked me to in one of their emails. I put in a claim with Embrace for a vet visit near the end of my first year. I knew it wouldn't get me up to the deductible, but I wanted to see how the process would go. Embrace received my claim, and only then, after 11 months as a customer, got around to looking at the medical records I had sent in. At that point, I learned that everything my dog has ever seen the vet for, including diarrhea she had in 2014, is a preexisting condition. I had a long back and forth with one of the agents, and it was generally frustrating. I tried to argue against the diarrhea being a preexisting persistent condition, and at one point that agent copied information from the policy (on the time period between intestinal issues after which the issue can be assumed to be gone, 12 months I think) and misrepresented it to me as the reason that my dog could _never_ have any stomach issues covered. Maybe I'm wrong, but I found that whole bit offensive, and to be a serious overreach as a way to set up denials in the future. I am genuinely glad that others have good experiences with Embrace. It's obviously difficult to deal with these sorts of things. I just left my interaction feeling like Embrace was happy to profit from my love for my dog and concern for her wellbeing, without giving much in return. So I canceled my account and switched to another company that my vet recommended.

Very happy with my choice of pet insurance!
I bought Healthy Paw Pet insurance for my 2nd dog when I brought her home as a puppy. I did a lot of research and found their policy to have very fair rates, a reasonable process and excellent reviews. I was easily able to navigate which plan customization worked best for me. In my experience Healthy Paws has a very simple online process for submitting claims, a fast turnaround for reimbursements and their customer service has been helpful/caring at ever turn! I have recommended Healthy Paws to my friends with pets!!!

Love Embrace
Easy to work with and pay back on claims has a very quick turnaround time. I would have been over my head in vet bills if it wouldn't have been for Embrace.

When I Needed Them They Were There
I have had 2 dogs, Anya and Nico, covered by ASPCA for years and had never had to file a claim. Around Thanksgiving of 2016 Anya (who is 15 years old) became listless and stopped eating. This went on for a number of days and we decided she wasn't going to "come around" and we felt we needed to take her to a hospital. They determined that she had a high fever and put her on intravenous antibiotics, but she didn't respond. We thought we would lose her. After three expensive days of tests and treatment her fever finally broke and our little pup suddenly became her active old self!ASPCA paid about 2/3 of her almost $3,000.00 hospital bill (which was about what I was expecting according to our plan) and they paid it almost immediately which was very reassuring to us. When we finally needed them they were there for Anya!

Quick payment for recently insured dog
I recently adopted a nine year old Maltese rescue. Even though Rosie was healthy, I thought it was important to insure her as soon as possible. I chose Healthy Paws for a variety of reasons and am really glad that I did. My first interaction with the staff at Healthy Paws was positive and I was pleased with my choice of insurers. Very unexpectedly, Rosie became quite ill and after hospitalization and an endoscopic biopsy was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. She has responded well to treatment but the whole incident has been very, very expensive. Being new to Healthy Paws, I didn't know what to expect when I submitted her claims. To my surprise, the transactions were effortless and my claims were handled very quickly. Rosie had a huge vet bill and getting her insurance payment so promptly really helped. I would recommend this company -- especially since they will insure older dogs.

Wonderful
I have 6 cats and they are all insured here. We are happy with the decision we made about 13 years ago to insure all our pets. I never had a problem with a claim. They always paid without much hassle for me. Thank you for giving us peace of mind.

Great Decision
I have a 4 year old English Bulldog who I got Embrace for when he was a puppy. So Happy I did. After a summer of testing and steroids we found out he is Extremely allergic to dust. He has been on a very expensive allergy med for 2 years now and Embrace covered testing, meds and visits at 80%. He was also attacked by a dog and needed emergency surgery with a bill of < $2,000, embrace also covered the ER visit, surgery and meds at 80%. We are in the vet often with normal Bulldog issues and so happy I purchased this insurance for him.
