fast and reliable, A++ customer service

its clear what is covered, quotes within 24 hours. post surgery they called me (a human person!) to see about biopsy results and see how my dog was doing! great customer service, could not recommend pet insurance and ASPCA enough.

Great company

Amazing company with prompt response and compassion. My dog had to have surgery and every conversation I had with the reps was nice and they all showed concern about my dog's well being. I even got an email a week later asking how my dog was recovering. What insurance company does that? Everything (except the vet exam was covered), and I got a check quickly in the mail. I highly recommend healthy paws!

Embrace claim review

I submitted 4 claims for vet appointments and a surgery for my english bulldog's knee surgery. It took about 5 weeks for the process to be reviewed which i felt was unnecessarily lengthy. The delay was due to a TEMPORARY pre existing condition exemption that had expired about a year earlier. They wanted to make sure that there hadnt been any issues during the temporary exemption waiting period. I felt as though the process was unnecessarily long to wait, but ultimately the claims were correctly covered. The staff was very friendly and explained the delay to me. And I recommend Embrace as one of the better companies.

Good Coverage

I liked that they processed claims submitted online within a few days and I received direct deposit reimbursements within a few days after approval. I've had the insurance for two years, and with my cat's recent illness, I'd say I've come out about even as far as costs/reimbursements. Just wish his current illness wasn't going to be considered a pre-existing condition once my policy renews next month.

Nothing but a scam

Trupanion waived all existing conditions as a promo with my vet for a very very expensive pet plan. After taking thousands and thousands of dollars of mine, I finally sent in my first claims. The first couple went towards my deductible. But I have learned this is nothing but a scam. They waived the preexisting condition but they don't tell you that means that anything your dog has ever taken as a medication or had as a mild issue simply will not be covered. My dog had cancer. But because she was given a pain medication for arthritis in the past, that means they won't cover it. If she was given any pain meds for any non related to the cancer medications in the past, they wont cover them. One of the agents even said to me that "I should have had her enrolled as a puppy if I wanted them to cover those meds."I paid Trupanion all that money and even though my dog had several thousands of dollars of medical expenses related to brain and liver cancer they have covered less than $300. Talk about stealing your money. It was nothing more than bait and switch. They baited me with the help of my vet who KNEW that insurance companies do this by waiving any and all previous conditions like her knee replacement etc. And if her body had a slightly elevated liver enzyme for YEARS which the Vet told me was just her normal genetic make up. Trupanion won't cover it. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY. They add insult to injury. You will lose your companion AND Trupanion will steal your money. My vet is just as guilty. This is a scam.

Concern shown for my pet

My 8 year old lab had a spell of intestinal incidents in three months that required three different claims.ASPCA was kind enough to follow up on Duke after each claim as well as pay the claims off quickly. I appreciated the concern shown for my boy.
