Insurance exp with cat lily poisoning

"One of our cats was accidentally poisoned by lily pollen from a floral arrangement sent for Mothers Day. The therapy involved two vet sessions plus a couple of days of 24 hour pet ER for IV fluids. Our cat recovered completely and Pets Best paid the claim per the terms of the insurance. I am very happy with their service.

Adding pre-existing conditions that don't exist, even though multiple emails, notes, and vet notes CLEARLY never said it's pre-existing. Also, the condition is not even currently existing.

I’m basing this rating solely off the…

I’m basing this rating solely off the interaction I had with the service rep. I had to call and ask about two claims that had been placed on hold due to “lack of notes”. I’ve noticed they like to do that regardless of the info they have. I spoke to our DVM and he had notes front and back. After talking to this rep in particular I had to explain that I got meds to get one of my pups through the fireworks. I didn’t have an appt and didn’t need to have him seen because I’ve been going to the same place with the same DVM for years. They know our babies. So long story short… thanks to her both of our claims were taken off hold and one has been completed. We’re still waiting on word for the other claim… EVEN though it’s for a new diagnosis. So we pay the bill of course but are depending on the money to be reimbursed and they seem to be very slow when it comes to having to cover something… so that’s super frustrating and unacceptable. But like I said this rating is based SOLELY on the rep I spoke to in this situation who took initiative and got the claims rolling again. I appreciate her. She was professional, incredibly sweet and knew exactly what she was doing. No wasting of our time. I wish I remembered her name. The customer service people are absolutely out of this world so far. It’s actually nice dealing with them.

The cost is low, processing is slow

The cost is low, compared to SPOT, who the majority of my pets go through. I adopted 2 dogs, and one came with Pets Best, so I figured I would try it out with both dogs. I like that I can get unlimited coverage. I like that the one dog could just have their coverage changed to me, and there's no waiting period. I like the coverage for wellness. It seems to be the most coverage available, for the most part. The thing I am currently hung up on is the claims processing. SPOT usually has me paid within a week, not business days, within 7 days total or less. Pets Best has taken a week just to process, and I am still waiting on the payment. This would be my first payment, so maybe it will take a little longer the first time. However, I submitted 2 claims for wellness for 2 dogs and one STILL had not been processed. I haven't seen anything come through asking for anything or explaining why it is taking so excruciatingly long to get a tiny wellness claim paid out. I just submitted another wellness claim for a neuter on the one dog, and an injury claim on the dog that STILL had not had their wellness claim processed and we are going on week two for the wellness claim. Unless things pick up with Pets Best, I will be switching these 2 to SPOT at the end of the year. Paying a little more for less grief would be worth it. I'm hoping they improve and it is just a fluke.

Kevin was amazing

Kevin was amazing. He helped me with picking the right plan for my dog. I’m very happy with what we got and the price. I really think the price should’ve been cheaper considering the fact she’s only seven months old.
