Plan review
Very pleased with the plan we have for Jake. My only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is that it seems to take some time to get reimbursed.

DO NOT GET THIS
Please everyone reading this take my advice and do NOT go with nationwide pet insurance. They just cancelled my ferrets policy and claimed it was pre existing when it wasn’t and refuse to pay me the money they owe me but still take out the monthly payments. Please please do not go with them they are cruel and never reply to anything . I don’t want anyone to suffer like I am. I got the insurance to help me because they are expensive and my boy recently got diagnosed with congestive heart failure and now they claim it’s pre existing . Now I am fighting to get my monthly payments and money back it’s a nightmare I wish upon no one

Wonderful Benefit! Submission Experience Needs Improvement.
Nationwide Pet Insurance is absolutely valuable and I would recommend. However, the claim submission process requires the patience of a saint. My last customer service experience was less than desirable but the Supervisor stepped in when requested, and was knowledgeable, kind, and solution oriented. I give it an A-.

The pet insurance is great, but accuracy in claims processing is not so good
We really like the Nationwide Pet Insurance, and we like the fact that it is a flat rate not age based, as well as getting multi-pet discount. However, because we have multiple pets, we tend to take more than one pet to out vet each time we have an appointment. This appears to be a problem with claims processing. More than once, I've had to call customer service and get the claim reprocessed because it was either reviewed with an amount associated with the wrong pet or completely processed incorrectly. Customer service is always is always very friendly and helpful, but I would rather not have to call. Also, it would be nice if there were an online form to complete (rather than an Adobe Acrobat form) to use for submitting claims. That way I could just fill out and attach the receipt online instead of doing a lot of scanning of papers.

Service Ratings
Overall, service and response time is excellent. If I could have my ideal situation, it would be that Dreidel's medication for a torn ACL would be covered for more than one year She is still hurting.

I TELL EVERYONE ABOUT NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE
I think this is my 4th review of Nationwide pet insurance in the 3 years I've had Princess Doobs (a.k.a. Doobie, a.k.a. Widget, a.k.a. Monkey) and so far I have nothing negative to impart. Admittedly, the premium package I purchased when she was 3 months old is perhaps pricey by some standards, but for the most part, it has paid for itself. On those occasions when it seems we should have named her Ms Mishap, it is the peace of mind provided by such a solid policy that wears no price tag. And despite the Oops-es the Doobster has faced along the way, the policy also covers a percentage payment of the basics, e.g. shots, heartworm meds, etc. This the best investment in pet-owning we have ever made. Thank you, Nationwide.
