This insurance has worked well for us. Our Vet files the claim and it is adjudicated quickly and efficiently. My only wish is that the reimbursement be directly deposited in my bank account instead of going through Chase.

Newfound Cancer is Pre-Existing Apparently
Adopted my dog and had an initial vet appointment on our first week. At that appointment they performed a routine check, noting a couple bumps on her skin. At the same time, we were referred to and enrolled with Trupanion. It was only until weeks later that we would find out those bumps were mast cell tumor. Trupanion said that because the vet noted a few bumps during our initial vet appointment they were now a pre-existing condition, and that every mast cell tumor for the rest of our dog's life would be considered pre-existing and would not be covered. How was I supposed to know? I've never adopted a dog before, let alone ruin my insurance eligibility by giving her a routine check-up. When I planned to buy insurance, I trusted and imagined Trupanion to be there for exactly this type of devastating diagnosis. Now that the worst has happened, and they're clearly committed to not helping, it's heartbreaking, disappointing, and just awful. I don't know what to do. At least I'll know better for my next pet (and will especially consider HealthyPaws, PetFirst, or Figo).

Thank you for saving Robie
4+ years ago Robie became very ill. After 2 vets didn’t know what to do I took him to a university veterinary clinic. They were also stumped but began to treat the various symptoms. After being on death’s door, Robie is an active & happy dog. He’s had a few relapses but thanks to Nationwide he receives the care he needs. Robie wouldn’t be here without Nationwide. I can’t thank Nationwide enough to be on Robie’s team.
