Pre Existing Condition?
I was very upset when my claim was denied for my seven year old dog’s ear infection. Apparently having one other ear infection in her life makes it a pre existing condition and therefore not covered? I though that is what insurance was for?

A Lifetime of Care
Both of my dachshunds have had coverage with Nationwide (once VPI). They were generally very healthy but had a few surgeries etc. and of course well care. We were always grateful that we decided to get coverage as soon as we brought our puppies home.

Nationwide is THE Best
We rescued Lola as a puppy and she has allergies and some other minor issues. Nationwide has been wonderful and so easy to work with and has helped us tremendously with the costs we have incurred trying to give her the best life. I highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance. The ease of submitting a claim is second to none and the amount of money that the company covers, less your deductible, is very generous. So thank you Nationwide for helping us take the best possible care of Lola, who has stolen all our hearts!

Unclear, predatory deducible policy
Beware -- Trupanion is not forthcoming about their deductible policy. On their site and all throughout the enrollment process, they promote your plan's deductible as if it is a one-time, annual thing you must hit in order to be covered. However, once you dig deep into documentation, you find that the deductible is applied to EACH CONDITION - meaning you have to hit the deductible on each condition in order to be paid out. Several times we were left with massive vet bills for our dog because of a lack of clarity in Trupanion's policies. Furthermore, they do not cover exams, which is also unclear in their upfront enrollment. Avoid at all costs and go with USAA or a friendlier company -- these guys are thieves.

Awful company that steals your money
Got this insurance and took our dog to the vet to find out that he has a benign tumor that needed to be removed. After $1,500 spent, find out that they are refusing to cover our bills. This is a scam rip off company. what a waste. GFY

TRUPANION IS SO AWSOME!
We needed to take our sweet Charlotte to the vet because she was exhibysigns of increased thirst. Fearful that she might be developing diabetes or kidney disease. I called the vet. They took her right in. Praise God that the bloodwork and urinalysis came back perfectly normal. We paid the $278.00 gladly! When I mentioned we had TRUPANION the office submitted the claim! I was notified that TRUPANION received it! All of this happened yesterday and I just received notice that I will be reimbursed $167.80! OMG! THANK YOU TRUPANION! I tell everyone about your company!

Thank you for a speedy claim resolution
Took many calls to vet staff to have them finally send in my claim. Frustrating. But Trupanion moved quickly and in these times every dollar helps. Wish the insurance was more affordable but at least my pocket doesn’t feel double dinged now. So kudos to you.
