glad to have insurance on a pure bred dog, but wish it covered more of total costs put out
Decided to purchase insurance on 2nd Doberman after multiple issues w/first Dobie. So far is worth it but costly and doesn't cover a lot of the expenses. I feel it's more of a catastrophic coverage policy. It does give a portion back on normal fees and the process is simple w/my vet sending the info to Nationwide. Nationwide is prompt at refunding as well and when I've had to speak w/representatives they are very helpful and polite.

I like that Nationwide has been paying my claims quickly - its very helpful -- while sometimes I do not get back as much as I would like, it is helpful at this time in my dog's life as she is a senior dog now, and needs more support.

Completely Satisfied
I bought my dog's Trupanion policy when he was under a year old. German Shepherds can have health issues that some insurers won't cover. Trupanion offered the complete coverage I was looking for. 2019 was a tough year for my dog with skin issues and we filed more claims than usual. Trupanion was there for us with great customer support, coverage and ease of filing claims and receiving reimbursement. I did my homework before choosing Trupanion, and I have never regretted that decision.

Reimbursements came in quickly
Claims were reviewed quickly but after I hit my deductible the company requested to review all of my dog's vet records and took 30 days to review this. During those 30 days no other claims were approved until the review was finalized - I was surprised by this and why it took SO long to review the vet records. I have a young puppy and got her insurance right after getting her so her vet record was not long at all. After the review process was finalized, all the claims were processed and I have had no issues submitting claims or getting reimbursements. I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly it takes to have my reimbursement in my account.
