Thank God for Trupanion

We have had many dogs over the years and never had insurance for them. So when I was approached by my vet to get insurance for my new pup, a Bassett Hound cross, I had a double take. For some unknown reason I took the insurance. Well, it has paid for itself already, Charlie has been to the hospital twice. The first for something he got into, the second was he had a reaction to the medication his vet ordered for him. The 3 day stay in the hospital quickly added up. But, I felt relieved that I good give him the best possible care that he deserved. Trupanion is quick to respond, and cares about our pets. I reccomend them to anyone looking for the best for their pet.

Getting better

I had never had a dog before, so when we got a puppy last year, I was strongly encouraged by all my dog-owner friends to buy pet insurance. I shopped around and decided on Embrace, mainly because they are a local to me company and I try to 'shop' local as much as possible. The first year with Embrace was just 'so-so', it was largely due to me learning the ropes & understanding how the policies work. I decided to go ahead and renew the policy, upping my "Wellness" benefits, where there is no deductible but a set amount for reimbursement. Now that I understand better how the policies work, I am much happier with my coverage. In short, anything having to do with 'prevention' like flea/tick applications, routine shots and exams, etc. goes under "Wellness" with NO deductible and is reimbursed in full (up to your specified dollar amount). Anything related to sickness, worms, injury like a sprained leg, etc. goes towards the regular insurance policy WHICH HAS A DEDUCTIBLE BEFORE you get reimbursed. I'm going to stick with Embrace for a while longer.

As advertised, THANK YOU TRUPANION!!

For many that are contemplating pet insurance for your beloved 4 legged family member, please read this. I've been with Trupaion for over a year now and spent about 20 hours researching pet insuarance plans/companies before choosing Trupanion. As with many things, we don't truly know if a person or company with follow through with what they say until it's time to put those words into action. My young 2 yr old cat(Mickey) had an accident which dislocated his tail. As is the case with most accidents or illness, it happened after my Vet of 10 years closed for the day.Trupanion covered 90% of the Vet bill, less the evaluation fee. The total bill was just shy of 3900.00.I received reimbursement of just shy of 3200.00. To my knowledge, Trupainon is the ONLY pet insurance company that reimburses 90% of costs that are after hours. Most might cover 70%. 20% is a huge amount as after hours costs are exceedingly higher than our normal Vet costs. When choosing an insurance company, this was a key reason for choosing Trupanion. I received my reimbursement within 30 days of sending in my first claim. Certainly no complaints there!! I never got the song and dance from Trupaion. My file on Mickey was up to date which makes the process allot easier.Each person I spoke with through this challenging time was genuinely concerned for the health of my Cat. Having pet insurance, the right pet insurance, will all but eliminate having to make that stomach renching choice, which isn't a mater o

Glad you asked.

I was not happy with the way my claim was handled with Petie in Dec. 2010. I had insurance with you in the past, canceled and decided to try again. You received my claim on 12-3-10, and after approx. 2 weeks I called to see what the status was. I was told that you were waiting for my vet to send info. and you (ASPCA) would fax them a notice again(why did I have to call to get this initiated?) A few days later I called to see if you received the info. The rep. said no. So I called my vet and she said she sent everything you needed several weeks ago, but would fax the info to you again. I called and your rep still didn't get it. I asked my vet to send ME the copies, I sent them in myself, and my claim finally got done 1-7-11. It seemed you had the documents from my vet, all along, but for some reason the rep couldn't find them. After all that, you only reimbursed me $20. I filed an appeal and won, that happened in a few days. Now, you are not paying anything on my second cat pumpkin for the same thing. On this claim, I did get e-mails throughout the process notifying me of what was going on with pumpkin's claim. I will appeal this one and if I do not win, I will cancel. This is ridiculous that I have to go through all this. Thank you for listening. Kim

Excellent coverage

Pet's Best has excellent coverage and reimbursement. My claims were paid within 1 week. Customer service reps are friendly, helpful and seem to be very caring. I am very pleased I have this policy.

Necessary

My Golden Retriever now 16 months has had a few medical issues since getting pet insurance. Lucky for me it has already paid for itself within the first 4 months of receiving the plan; not that you want to have to use the insurance....but to me it's well worth it, as health insurance continues to rise.

Thank God for ASPCA Pet Insurance

My boxer had a severe allergic reaction and needed several emergency and follow up visits to the vet-at least 10. These visits proved to be very costly and were charged to our credit card. With the reimbursement checks from ASPCA pet insurance we were able to offset a good portion of the cost. I would never want to refuse my "little love" care because I couldn't afford it. "Thank God for ASPCA pet insurance", they reviewed my claims quickly and I received the checks before my next credit card billing cycle.

Money Well Spent

A few years back my Cavalier King Charles ate a sock and it did not pass. A $4000 operation followed and I decided that a pet so valuable should have proper insurance. Since I have obtained Hartville insurance, Murph has stopped eating socks but has had a few claims to submit. All these claims are handled professionally and in a timely manner. We are very satisfied customers!

'the best investment

At a time when our family was undergoing a serious illness, my young dog, Cali became very ill. After numerous testing and finally reaching a dianosis and a five day hospital stay, Cali is on the way to recovery. Cali came home with a large bill which was 80 % covered by her insurance. It was a blessing not to worry about the cost of her care. The check came quickly with no hassles. We are grateful.
