So amazing the support I have received…
So amazing the support I have received from Trupanion so far. My poor pup had to have TPLO surgery on her left need suddenly, out of nowhere and the ENTIRE team at Trupanion has been so amazing and helpful which reduced so much of the stress I had on top of helping my baby girl heal! Thank you!

Slow refunds, 2020
So far we have submitted 2 claims. 1st beginning of Sept., refund received OK, 2nd claim submitted Sept 25th (no refund so far), 3rd claim should go in Oct. 19th. The question/answer page does not indicate how long it will take tp process a claim. When you have several bills to submitted it may be difficult to keep track of all your records/claims. The your portal does show info link claim "in process' but no time lines. If you have thousands of dollars in claims you would like a speed refund so you can pay your bills.

Far exceeded my expectations
As a lawyer dealing with insurance companies (on both sides) for almost 30 years, I've seen practices across the board. Ease and uncontested coverage are, sadly, not the norm. I did a lot of homework before selecting Healthy Paws. I never had pet insurance before and didn't trust it (for the reasons stated above). When my young dog was diagnosed with elbow problems and needed surgery and rehab, I prepared for a fight. I was sure coverage would be contested somehow. Healthy Paws has been fantastic. As long as I submit itemized invoices the claim process is easy and I receive a reimbursement check quickly. I'm floored that I don't have to fight for benefits. During these times especially, the comfort of knowing my claims will be promptly paid is immeasurable. I highly recommend Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws cares about the wellbeing of my dog.
I didn't have much contact with Healthy Paws pet insurance until my puppy got sick. My mini golden doodle came down with something nasty that left her vomiting for three days. So I took her to the pet hospital to make sure it wasn't anything serious. After a slew of tests, the doctor determined that she was fine and she likely got into something she shouldn't have. I submitted my insurance claim to Healthy Paws by using their mobile app. A few days later I was reimbursed and then an agent contacted me to check on my puppy. It was so sweet to get a personalized note from them, asking how my puppy was doing. That little touch of going the extra mile and showing that they actually care is what made me realize I chose a great insurance company. I've already recommended Healthy Paws to my friends and I would recommend it to you as well.

Exceeds expectations
As an insurance coverage lawyer, I expected the worst from pet coverage. I did a lot of research before selecting Healthy Paws and crossing my fingers. Unfortunately, disaster struck and my puppy needed elbow surgery and rehab. Healthy Paws has been fantastic about adjusting my claims quickly and sending checks promptly. Submission is easy and I haven't had to fight for coverage, which, during these trying times, is a huge burden lifted. Highly recommend Healthy Paws.

As much as I pay each month for insurance the amount I am reimbursed after a visit at the vet is not close to how much I pay. $450 bill but I’m reimbursed $90? Make it make sense! I will be end my policy soon.
