The absolute worst insurance experience…
The absolute worst insurance experience of anything I’ve ever had insurance on! Car, home, life, phone, flood!! After 3 months They keep sending me emails every two weeks about needling more info from my vet. My vet sent them 11 pages of records 4 times. I spoke to a rep EVERY WEEK since the surgery (July 27 2020). They say they don’t have them, then another rep says they do then again they re waiting. I’ve called and shown up at my vets office 3 times to make sure they did their part and sure enough they did. I again call ASPCA pet insurance and wait the 40-over an hour wait times to be told the same things. When they “ verify” they have the records then tell me they will put this though for payment into my direct deposit, I get nothing but another email saying they’re waiting for medical records.I call again and the rep says the same repertoire then tells me they need records going back even further than a year since my dog has only been going to this vet less than a year. Not once had this come up in the previous emails. They always say they’re email the vet that did the surgery. I went and got, photographed and sent records all the way back to 2018!! So I cancelled my coverage and everyday for the last 5 days I get a voicemail and an email asking to keep coverage and remit payment. They’re adept at begging for money FROM me everyday just not lifting a finger to PAY me. Also now when I go to the “My Pet Insurance “ app the date if the claim says Jan. 1,2001!!!!!! What a joke of a company! A $1042 surgery claimI’ll NEVER get back! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

Totally not worth the money
Totally not worth the money. They keep raising rates to unprecedented levels every year and its outrageous. I am not happy with the reimbursement, but mostly with the fact that they raise the rates so much over the years. My rates have gone up 75% in 4 years. That’s highway robbery!! I do not recommend them at all!!

So incredibly pleased with Healthy Paws!
I am so so appreciative of heathy paws insurance as we just had an emergency visit that ended up being just a very expensive scare! This visit “for nothing” would have cost me $1,100! However, knowing that I had insurance, I was more comfortable doing some of the pricier diagnostic tests than I would have otherwise. It was nice to be able to do more tests and get the peace of mind that we needed. We have already had two emergency visits with this crazy puppy and I am so grateful and happy that I decided to purchase insurance! I’ve also been so pleased with how easy it has been to file a claim and receive payment!

I am so so appreciative of heathy paws insurance as we just had an emergency visit that ended up being just a very expensive scare! This visit “for nothing” would have cost me $1,100! Terrible insurance if your pet is born with a condition
If your pet is born with a condition that you’re unaware of or you have a rescue dog that you have no clue about it’s medical history, be aware that Trupanion WILL NOT cover their conditions and claim that it’s pre existing!!!!

I do like the company
I do like the company, but I feel the turn around time for the reimbursement is very long. I was with another company and they would reimburse within 7 days. It isn't always easy to come up with the funds which is why we have Pet insurance and it took over 30 days to get reimbursed. That is unacceptable.

Amazing customer service
Amazing customer service, and compassion. I've been paying premiums for 4 years, and had a few questions here and there. This summer however my fur baby was diagnosed with pancreatitis and almost died. He spent 5 days in ICU. I didn't have to think twice about saying do whatever you have to, to take care of my boy. Thank you Trupanion!

So easy to submit a claim and I received payment quickly! The app makes it very convenient. Pet insurance is well worth it, especially if you have a puppy! They also offer wellness plans, which not all companies do!

Time-tested and Consistent
In the past 4.5 years that I've had pet insurance for my adopted Boston Terrier, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been extremely consistent in their pricing and reimbursements. I just spent a few grand on having a cyst and three teeth removed. Not only was I properly reimbursed; I was reimbursed within 7 business days of submitting the claim. I notice that there are other competing insurance options now; however, it makes sense to me to honor the plan that has been time-tested and consistent. That is so important.
