Trupanion has been a source of comfort to our family during stressful times when our pets have needed medical attention. With the backing of an incredible insurance policy our fur babies always got the level of testing and needed procedures to care for all of their ailments. The staff are kind and attentive in all their discussions with us and the cost reimbursement procedure is quick and surprisingly simple- payment is direct to the vet if they participate, making your out of pocket upfront payments a thing of the past. You can’t beat the value of their policy and add on supplemental riders for the peace of mind you get. I highly recommend Trupanion to all my family and friends. You really can’t compare them to any other pet insurance company.

I love Healthy Paws insurance company
I love Healthy Paws insurance company. They have been a lifesaver for me and my dog, Tizo. Can you imagine an insurance company that reviews your claims in 24-48 hours and sends your reimbursement straight to your account a day or two after? It's true. You submit the claim online, wait a couple days and suddenly those outrageous bills seem much more reasonable. I just had an incident where Tizo became very, very sick overnight. She could have died! But fortunately I got her to a vet within a day -- and then the bills starting coming in. But Healthy Paws made it quite manageable for me. And, then, believe it or not, a week or so after, they wrote to me to ask me how we both were doing! Exceptional service, exceptional care!

Claims denied tying back to one incident as puppy now assumed as pre-existing condition! …
Claims denied due to wording from vet and Trupanion makes assumptions and holds true to not paying claims due to pre-existing conditions. My dog was vomiting as a puppy and since the vet claimed she “may have a chicken allergy” every claim submitted thus far has been noted as a pre-existing allergy or gastroenteritis condition, therefore, all claims denied. Please note my dog was never actually tested for a chicken allergy but because the vet noted that in our paperwork, Trupanion immediate states she had a pre existing condition. This has been the most frustrating experience with not one claim paid in the 1.5 years I have had them and my dog is only 2 years old. The HELPDESK told me that it’s like buying a car, If the car was in a wreck and the front end was all damaged, that’s a pre-existing condition. Really? Thanks, Amy from the HELPDESK. This has been a horrifying ordeal. I’ll be dropping Trupanion immediately and talking to my vet about how he words things going forward. Ridiculous.

Peace of mind made easy
My dog recently tore her ACL and Healthy Paws made the experience a lot more bearable knowing I could focus on taking care of my dog and not how much it was going to cost. The first claim I made was a smaller bill for x-rays and it was approved in less than week, but I opted for a check through mail and am still waiting for it (3wks later). For the claim for the actual surgery it took them about 2 wks to process, but this time I opted for direct deposit and it was in my account 48hrs after it was approved. It was very easy to file, you just send a picture of the invoice and customer service was great when I had a question. I had a response back via email by the next day. They even sent a email with well wishes while my dog was recovering. Overall, I've had a great experience with them, will continue to use them, and will recommend them to anyone.
