Two more claims approved
Recently our baby boy came walking up with a limp tail. He had been fine in the morning, but when I saw him later the back end of his tail was sagging, even when he was trying to hold it up as he walked towards me. I was worried, of course, so about twenty minutes later we were at the vet with him. The vet didn't find the cause of the limp tail, though he didn't find any fractures. He gave him two shots - an anti inflammatory and Convenia, just in case, and he took him home to keep an eye on him. Our bill was about $170. I also decided to follow that up by buying some flea meds (we had the whole wellness plan, which covers most things). I submitted all of the paperwork and proof of purchase of the flea meds within about 24 hours. It didn't take too long to get approval notices, and the checks have arrived covering 90% of the costs, save for the $100 yearly deductible. Every time I have submitted a claim it has been accepted and the insurance has sent a check without hassle. I will say I try to be very orderly - I give all of the paperwork in a PDF file right away and fill out the form and send it via e-mail. I feel safe knowing that we have this insurance for our boy. And, fortunately, his tail has healed up and it back to normal now! We aren't positive about what happened, but the vet visit and some careful observation, along with keeping him cooped up for a little bit while he recovered, did the trick.

Still as awesome as I remeber
I have had insurance through this company before - VPI (not sure if also Nationwide at the time) when I was an Underwriter at HSBC from 2003 to 2007. Mortgage industry crashed, job was lost, etc. & so forth. Life happened. I was thrilled when my current company finally offered pet insurance as part of my benefits package & even more thrilled when I saw it was underwritten by VPI. I didn't even think about it & signed right up. I feel like I never left. Submitting claims is even easier (technology in general has improved over the years lol), questions always answered, claims processed super fast. Nationwide's process from start to finish is seamless & easy...which is great when you have a sick pup and don't really need the added stress of fighting over coverage, payments, complicated filing processes. I have yet to encounter any issues and love the transparency. I appreciate you very much! My two pups thank you as well!

Good insurance but one major flaw
In general this is a good plan. No cap on benefits, reasonably easy to submit claims and quick turnaround on payment. My problem is that when I read the fine print that said they didn't cover veterinary exams, I thought that meant regular preventive exams. I didn't realize they meant that anything classified as an "exam fee" isn't covered, even if it's part of an emergency care visit for a condition that is covered by the insurance. This has meant that major portions of our unexpected vet bills get denied. Because of this I am looking for other options. If they covered exam fees for non-routine visits I would have rated them much higher.

Quick payment and service!!
What a great Company. Our little sweet heart Rory has had a awful GI problem for several years. We are so glad we bought the insurance when he was a puppy! His claims have been way over what we have paid for premiums. After two years I think we have finally got his issues resolved. This would have been difficult with out Trupanion!!! rory is only 3.5 years old , We will definitely keep his insurance his whole life. Thank You Trupanion!

Very fast and easy to use
The speed of the process and the ease of using the app give me confidence that anytime something happens to one of my pets I can get them the best care. The one thing I don't have to worry about is how quickly Gracie's claim get processed.
Nationwide has been a God send for me. With Gracie's diagnosis I know I only have her for a few more months and with that will have some costly expenses. But I don't have to worry about getting them processed and turned around to me quickly. One less thing for me to worry about and I can have my thoughts deal with Gracie.

Best coverage and claim service!
I love the coverage that my plan offers, and the easy way to submit claims. I must say thou I was not happy that my premiums went from $98/Mo to $172/Mo. Being a senior citizen on a fixed income, I’m afraid I won’t be able to afford it next year if the price hike is as steep.
