Investigating my claim
At this time I have only submitted one claim to Trupanion. So, I’m on the fence right now as to whether not I’m going to keep them. After submitting the claim they immediately denied it and stated that they do not cover the initial appointment and they do not cover diagnostics. I contacted them by phone and was told they do cover diagnostics! As far as not covering the initial appointment how would I find out what the issue is with my dog if I don’t have an initial appointment... they then sent me emails stating that they were investigating the claim to make sure that it wasn’t an existing claim. After contacting them on the phone 2 times, answering all of their questions and sending all the same information to them and explaining the situation to them and then repeatedly telling me that they were going to investigate the claim, making me feel like a liar! So, I am on the fence and deciding whether or not I’m going to continue with them and allowing them to take money out of my account every month or just put the money aside for my dog issue.

Shadow is dog #6. Lost 4. I’ve learned the hard way the importance of pet insurance. PetsBest has come to my rescue twice. Had medical emergencies with Shadow, but I didn’t completely panic because I knew she was covered and the financial burden wouldn’t be as hard. Wish I had it for my other dogs, but like I said lesson learned. Claim submission is so easy. Reimbursement is fast. Thank you PetsBest. I know I can get her the care she needs when she needs it.

Quick response, processing and availability
Healthy Paws is the first insurance I’ve ever had for a dog. My new puppy became ill with intestinal problems at 9 months old. Filing the claims was easy, quick and response immediate. I was reimbursed for 80% of costs minus $250 deductible within 10 days. I sure wish I had this for my older dogs.

Terrible Customer Service and Policies!
If I could give a 0 star review I would. I have paid over $1,600 in vet bills this year, and over $1,000 in pet insurance and have only received $145 from Pet's Best. When I called to talk to customer service I was put on hold for 35 mins then hung up on before getting customer service. I then called back, told them how I was hung up on and was put on hold for an addition 45 mins! Then waited 15 additional mins to talk to a manger. All of this and I was told to file appeals on each of my claims, not to mention the appeals form is NOT on their website so you have to wait on the phone to even get this form. It was the WORST experience I have EVER had! I do NOT recommend!

Healthy Paws made my dog's major surgery financially stress-free
When I found out my dog would require a major surgery, I was nervous about the large price tag. Healthy Paws had my back in so many ways. Filing the claim was as easy as uploading my emailed documents, and the customer service team was with me every step of the way. They let me know when they started the claim, which was almost immediate. The claim was processed within a few days and came back with a clear explanation of all benefits. The refund was in my bank account the next day! Afterward they emailed me to make sure I didn't have any further questions, and the check on how my dog was feeling! I wish human insurance companies were this straightforward, compassionate, and reliable!
