All Of These Companies are the Same
Pros: The claims process is easy and stress free The technology to submit claims is good The customer service is good Con: The premiums always go up. They will tell you it is because the area has raising vet costs, but that is just a half truth. Based on this logic, if I get a new quote, then it should be identical to the price I have now... quotes are always about half as much as my current premium. I am currently paying $65ish, and the new quote is $35ish. The entire industry does this because they want you to think their insurance is cheap, then drop them after a few years before you have any major claims... it is a classic bait and switch that I wish were better regulated. In the meantime I stick with HealthyPaw because they are one of the better companies in this industry.

Rate increase
I just recently adopted a dog and I’m insurance shopping. Healthy Paws seems to have great ratings. What concerns me most are the poor ratings all seem to be about recent, multiple rate increases. Can someone please address this. Thank you, Beth P.

Outstanding company to deal with…
Not sure how these negative reviews come about. I have a very sick dog, starting with Epilepsy from the age of 2, which incurs very expensive monthly medications, going forward to surgery for eating a knee high stocking wrapped around intestines. She has been hospitalized numerous times for cluster seizures, more recently had major surgery to remove tumors from her liver and spleen removal. Now it's low thyroid. I have had nothing but fantastic service and timely payments for the last 9 years. There have been times when I disagreed with a result, and they were very open to discussion, resulting in a fair outcome. Without hesitation, I recommend Trupanion to anyone who needs insurance for their pet.

Not liking it.
I was thinking on getting a pet insurance since I got my puppy 3 months ago but with are in the middle of a pandemic and it was a little hard so I waited until blackfriday for it, on Nov. the 27th I enrolled and paid the full amount FOR THE 3 DAYS LEFT. My dog had thrown up by now but the doctors said it was probably a parasite, he started loosing a lot of weight, got diarrhea together with the vomiting and was not doing good, you could see his spinal cord so I took him to another doctor on Dec. 2nd, he suspected an intussusception and reffered me to do a sonogram ASAP, on Dec. 3rd at 8a.m. we did the sonogram and there it was, the intussusception had already damaged so much in so little time, they advised us to do inmediate surgery to remove part of the intestine. Doctor said to do that same day or the latest the day after, or else my puppy was going to pass away(painfully) so I got myself in debt with an extra credit card hoping and expecting the insurance to pay for it, some or most. Because after all it was an emergency. The answered I received? It will not start working until after 14 DAYS, what was I suppose to do? Ask my dog to not die for another week? I do not understand why I had to PAY FULL AMOUNT FOR 3 DAYS LEFT ON THE MONTH specially when if something happended in that time frame they were going to say "oops, can't pay" I should have not been charge until after the 14 days. Then insurance needs to start working as soon as I ENROLL AND PAY. When you get a vehicle insurance and you get into a massive accident the day after, if you get life insurance and die the day after, if you get house insurance and it burns the day after, they don't say "oops, can't pay"
