Good coverage, speedy claims processing.

I'm quite pleased with Healthy Paws. The only reason I didn't give them a 10 overall is because they don't cover exams. My cat recently had an illness that required quite a number of tests, 3 vet visits and extensive treatment. Claims were simple to file. Healthy Paws updated me on claim status and processed claims within a few days. They covered all but exams minus the deductible at 80%. I had no worries about "reasonable and customary charges." The customer service rep I exchanged emails with asked how my cat was doing several times,

So grateful for healthy paws

I am so happy with the customer service the healthy paws has provided throughout the years. Odin being the playful poodle that he is gets into all sorts of things and at times bites off more than he can chew. Healthy paws has been there every step of the way and they are very helpful when it comes to odins vet bills. I would 10/10 recommend!

Do NOT buy PetsBest Insurance

READ YOUR POLICY. Insurance is a scam. They hook you with lower prices and empty promises. I put insurance on my dog when she was 3 months old. Fast forward to 3 months later, my 6 month old puppy tore her cruciate ligament. I was fully aware of the injury and illness waiting period and fully expected her injury to fall under injury coverage I had purchased. It was specifically spelled out on my Policy Application under "Your Pets Coverage Begins: Illness: 14 days [...], Accident: 3 days [...]." After waiting 42 days for them to process my claim, it came back rejected. Thats when I found out about the 6 month waiting period for cruciate tears. After calling customer service it was described to me as "an anomaly" that she even tore her cruciate at 6 months of age. Despite it being an anomaly, it can not/will not be covered because it happened before my waiting period. I argued although I havent held the policy for 6 months it should be covered based on the fact that I was a responsible pet owner and purchased insurance as soon as I could for her. Despite my efforts to work with PetsBest they rejected coverage because the injury occurred before my waiting period was up. Footing me with a $6,000 surgery scheduled for the 28th and my monthly insurance payments that have not caused me any financial relief. If they cared about pets and prided themselves on their coverage they would have a heart to work with me and make things right in this rather unusual and rare situation. I fully recommend not purchasing a policy from them. Do not let their low prices hook you like they did to me. I have done some more research and came to the conclusion "Pumpkin" is a better option. They are more expensive, but from what I have seen all of their waiting periods are shorter and they have less things excluded.
