Our 'Belle' developed a Bacterial folliculitis and we had many bills for her. I submitted all that I had and got an $1100 refund. So glad I had Trupanion. I will have more bills and special food so Trupanion is a necessity. I would recommend them to my friends and anyone else who would ask.

Claims processing is quick and the results are reasonable.

I love how quickly they handles the claims and take care of everything to make ours lives easier. My one complaint. the office exams, I don't understand routine exams or the inital ones not being covered, but when trying to figure what is wrong, there should be a discount or something with the follow-up or referral exams from another doctor. Example when we went back in for the internal medicine doctor, everything else was covered but the exam part. I had already paid for the inital exams from the normal vet.

We brought a Miniature Shih Tzu into our home a few months ago. In her initial visit to our Vet, we were made aware that there are inherent issues that come from the genetics of them having a small snout and mouth. As her baby teeth were starting to be replaced with her adult teeth, problems started to occur. The Vet needed to pull 8 teeth and to our surprise, Trupanion covered the procedure since it is genetic in nature. I would absolutely recommend strong consideration to Trupanion if you bring a new pet family member into your home.

My purpose in writing is to pass along our story in hopes of informing other pet parents of the benefits of having pet insurance. What I should say is the benefits of having top-rate pet insurance. Having loved a chronically ill pet in the past led me to research the many companies who are now offering pet insurance. Believe me, I lit up the internet with searches, questions and policy comparisons. My investigatory work led me to the elimination of many companies and it directed me to Trupanion. That was three years ago and I have not regretted my decision for one moment. Not only have the Trupanion folks supported me monetarily in the care of the girls but they have also given me emotional support with the security of knowing that they do what they say they will do. One of the things that attracted me to Trupanion was their easy to read policy, no gray areas. You know up front what you are getting from Trupanion, their policy guidelines are clear. Another thing that impressed me was Trupanion's customer service, just as their policy, they do what they say they will do and they are so darned nice about it. Their customer service folks are friendly and very knowledgeable and they were actually the clincher for me when I was making my decision regarding which company to go with.
