As has been the case throughout our nearly three-year relationship with Embrace, they've come through again with seamless, efficient, and friendly service when processing a claim. They also automatically applied a new credit to our premium for which I didn't realize we even qualified!

On April 18, Dolly jumped off our bed, ran a short way and began to cry out in pain. She could not put weight on her right hind leg. I feared she had damaged her knee. Next day to doctor who diagnosed swelling in the knee area and advised reduced activity; i.e. keep her on leash at all times and move her bed as you move her from room to room. Restrictions 3-4 weeks. Outcome desired: To avoid surgery. We did this and Dolly is walking fine. This bill was $292.20 Back in December, we noticed one of her nostrils crusted over and we went to doctor. Treatment was ordered and we proceeded to comply. Weeks went by and the nostril improved, but never totally well. In April she had her teeth cleaned and while under anesthetic vet scoped her nose. Infection was present and a culture done to identify exact bacteria and proper antibiotic to use. She was placed on a regime of antibiotics for 14 days. She has responded but we are watching to see if it returns. This bill $548.75 The teeth cleaning was not covered by insurance. Claims were sent to Healthy Paws and promptly processed. The checks followed a few days later. Everything was paid as per the policy I purchased. I am so glad I bought insurance for her. It gives me peace of mind to know I can take care of her when the need arises. Rarely do I write reviews, but I did this one because I think Healthy Paws deserve to have folks know this is an honest company that treats the insured as their policy states.

My four year old cat, Molly , threw up one evening, but otherwise she was playful and happy . It happened again during the night and then once more the next morning. I made an appointment with my vet for later that morning. About 30 minutes later I checked on her. Molly's nose and gums were pale and she was barely breathing. I rushed her to the hospital and she was close to complete cardiovascular collapse. It took two and a half days of IV fluids, IV antibiotics (her temperature went to almost 104) and an ultrasound to diagnose and treat severe colitis. The estimates for her care amounted to several thousand dollars. I was very worried about Molly, but I was not worried about the cost. I knew we were covered by Healthy Paws, so Molly was able to get the care she needed. This has a very happy ending. Molly is fine and back to swatting at the dog. Healthy Paws processed my claim quickly and I had my check within a week. I consider health insurance for my pets as important as my own. Healthy Paws is the best.

Efficient and caring

We adopted Layla at age 5 from a rescue organization. We were very pleased Healthy Paws approved her for coverage in spite of her very limited medical history we were able to provide when we submitted her application. Seven months after enrolling her, she acutely developed a severe limp. Her diagnosis was a torn ACL, which required surgery. Our bill was approximately $3500 and Healthy Paws paid 80 percent. The day after I submitted the claim, I received an e-mail that the claim was completed; the check arrived in the mail within 5 business days. A representative from HP sent an e mail 2 weeks later check on her progress. I could not be more pleased with this insurance. They are efficient, claims are paid in a timely and accurate manner, and they take personal interest in our pet. I had experience a number of years ago with another pet insurance company, and there is no comparison. Healthy Paws sets the standard for the pet insurance industry.

There are many pet insurance companies out there, but I found Healthy Paws easy to understand and that is why I chose them. Having just recovered from surgery myself, we have many bills to pay. Mr. Lincoln, our Greyhound, developed a leak and infection in one of his salivary glands. The gland had to be surgically removed and the surgery was done by a specialty vet. My husband and I knew it would be an expensive surgery. I filed the claim form directly online. It was all so easy. We received emails from Healthy Paws when everything was received; when the claim was being processed; and when the check was cut. The money sure helped our finances at this time. We also felt that everyone was so kind in asking us about Mr. Lincoln's condition. Luckily Mr. Lincoln is doing fine and we learned that a dog can live well with just 7 of his 8 salivary glands. Embrace has excellent customer service and they process claims quickly. They keep you updated on the status of your claim and are easy to reach if you have questions. Claim forms are sent with your policy and they quick and easy for your vet to fill out. Staff is friendly and professional. Coverage is good and price is fair. We are very happy with Embrace and highly recommend them.

As long as I have a pet, Trupanion has me. Recently had an ACL injury with my Havanese, Poppy. Trupanion did exactly as they said they would, promptly, and with advice to me at every step along the way. Painless, (for me at least).
