crooks

I have beeen with VPI for more than 12 years and have seen the service fragmented and go steeply downhill since it became NATIONWIDE. I pay through payroll deduction and have seen major overcharging for example..my total bill is $687.32 and to date this year(with at least 3 more payments to go) I have been charged $744.53!!!!!!! I have contacted them and received many promises but NOTHING IS BEING DONE,I am still being overcharged.

Takes the load off

I have nothing bad to say about this company. They have been nothing but amazing ever since my one year old cat developed seizures. It gives me peace of mind knowing that she's covered.

15000 $ bills - paid ZERO

Our beloved Lab puppy had a Coccidia infection which caused an intussusception. That was in the waiting period so they didn't pay anything for treatment - that's ok.After that, she needed two more surgeries and a lot of medication due to 2 intussusceptions (in other parts of her intestant, and not connected to Coccidia). They declined to pay anything because they say it's all related to the Coccidia infection and so in the waiting period and so - Zero. We asked them for a review what they did through their "third-part vet". This vet stated the same, which we knew before as these vets are biased (they are paid by the insurance company). We offered a review by a "real" third-party vet at our expense which they declined. They are extremly customer-unfriendly (not responding to emails, not providing details, and so on). They never wanted to pay anything right from the beginning. We are almost broke now. The worst insurance company I ever had to deal with (and I work in the insurance business, btw). Sad but true.

Sign up for Healthy Paws NOW!

I am SO thankful that I got Healthy Paws Pet Insurance when we got our dog. My dog has gotten sick a few times (nothing major), but it was nice to have the tests and medicine covered. Recently, my dog was attacked while out on his morning walk. It was a major wound that needed 2 surgeries. The total of all my animal hospital bills quickly added up to $5,000 and boy am I SO GLAD that I have Healthy Paws. They covered $4,200 of the bills!!! Imagine your pet being innocently attacked and needing medical attention. Think about what a relief it would be to: 1. be able to get the medical attention your pet needs and 2. have most of the bill covered by insurance Keep in mind that if an accident is the fault of another persons animal, the other party is not legally obligated to pay the bill. Healthy Paws is 100% worth getting. SIGN UP TODAY!

Poor choice for older pets

I have this insurance for my two puppies and it has been a good choice for them. I was persuaded to take out a policy for my older dog too, and that was a mistake. Pretty much every claim that has been submitted for her care has been denied, so the policy charges have basically been a waste of money for me. If you have an older pet, make sure you get a thorough understanding of what will be covered (not much per my experience). Again, this review is only for older pets. For younger pets they are great.

No Regrets

We signed up for pet insurance when we got a standard poodle puppy, Katie. We have used it sporadically for the six year. She is now 7 years and had a bout with pancreatitis. The expenses of tests x-rays, and treatment are around $3000. ASPCA Pet Insurance has paid 80% of most of the expenses (except those that are above "customary" rates. We are retired folks living on limited income and this has been a life saver for us and Katie. Submitting a claim is easy and the reimbursement payments are made promptly.

Embrace Pet Insurance has great customer service

Embrace Pet Insurance has been fantastic so far. On-line submission of claims makes it easy. Customer service responds quickly and according to the policy. Costs to visit the vet have steadily risen over the years. Embrace is affordable and gives me confidence to know that if anything major we're to happen, we would be covered. And...it has helped with the common issues. I'm not hesitant to see the vet when we need to. Thank you Embrace!

I tell everyone to go to Trupanion

I truly don't have a single complaint. I can't say it's the cheapest insurance but as they say, you get what you pay for. I insured my fur-baby days after she came home. She was diagnosed with a liver disease a mere 2 months later. Trupanion paid for everything as promised, fast and without any arguments about what was covered or not. They continued to do so test after test, procedure after procedure. They checked in on her. They fixed errors in reimbursement almost the second they were identified. Best of all, they didn't increase my rates exponentially because I dated to use the insurance I purchased. I have not been let down by Trupanion yet. As her disease progresses, I know I can at least have one less thing I need to worry about and I couldn't be more grateful. It's heartbreaking enough without having to think about the financial component.
