Avoid the Wellness Care - Overpriced!
Let me start this by saying that overall, I love Nationwide. They've been great every time my pets have needed care. BUT -- the wellness care is not worth the price you pay for it. I was given a "hard sell" pitch when I called in to ask questions. I was not told that the deductible applied to the wellness care. Overall, I spent a great deal more on wellness care than I got out of it, even with a neuter surgery. I've been kicking myself all year for falling for the pitch and dishing out way more money than I should have. I can't wait for renewal to dump that portion of my dog's coverage. That said, if you're just looking for major medical coverage in case of accident or illness, you can't go wrong with Nationwide. Claims are easy to submit and paid relatively quickly. I've never had any problem getting claims paid, either, and I have been a customer for about 10 years.

So happy we purchased Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!!
I have three dogs and they're getting a little older - 10, 9, and 8 years old. After our oldest had a (very expensive) health scare we decided to invest in pet insurance. I had always been under the impression that pet insurance was a waste of money so I was hesitant but after a lot of research I decided on Healthy Paws and they have been wonderful! My 8 year old Shih Poo recently had some serious health issues (again, very expensive) and we put in our first claim. The claims process was really easy - just uploading some forms and having the vet fax their records. When we called with a question, they were very helpful and couldn't have been nicer. We received the reimbursement check within a few days after the paperwork was submitted. I'm so happy that we purchased Healthy Paws Insurance - I just wish we had done it when our girls were puppies. Our dogs are like family and we're realizing that care can get expensive as they get older. Pet insurance gives us peace of mind. Healthy Paws made a stressful situation a lot easier for us.

Excellent service for my new pup!
I had the pet insurance for my older 2 dogs that passed away last year and I was very satisfied with the service. We now have a new boxer puppy and I signed her up for the Nationwide Insurance right away. Recently she had stomach issues and she had to spend the night at the vets, she had an ultrasound and IV treatments. I feel that my dog is extra protected by having the insurance. The coverage is great! You never know what a puppy can get into, so protect your little loved ones!

Best money we've spent!
ASPCA pet insurance has been the best money we've spent this year. After getting our puppy, learning about hunting breeds and building her social skills and immune system through doggie daycare this insurance company has been very supportive with our claims and quick responses!

not worth the cost of the insurance
I have been paying $38/month for over a year. I chose a $500 deductible. In order to have an exam covered it would be a higher monthly premium. I was aware it does not cover neutering. I did think it covered some medications. My rottie experienced a dog bite and was taken to the ER for an exam, sutures, medication. Three days later he was neutered and had x-rays to rule out hip dysplasia. I was not aware X-rays are not covered if the diagnosis is hip dysplasia. Over the past year I had spent around $3,000 in vet bills. The insurance covered a whopping $18.77. Not worth it. My suggestion is to have a separate account for vet bills and not feed the insurance company.

Too long to get reimbursement, still waiting.
Usually you are pretty good but waiting a long time recently for reimbursements. Alos low reimbursements on some things like shots and office visits. I will look at other insurane when I get new pets. I have been with you for a long, long time with two pets.

Glad I had Pets Best Insurance!
Recently my dog Charlotte ate half a pair of my underwear and I had to take her to the hospital because she was acting weird. I called PetsBest beforehand just to make sure. I received my reimbursement pretty quickly - within a week, and the experience was easy and I’m so glad I have the insurance. I overheard a guy at the hospital who was having to deal with a $7k hospital visit and if that was me I wouldn't have had to pay less than $1k.
