Trupanion Comes Through!!!
I learned the hard way with a previous pet about not having pet insurance. We rescued this pet 3-1/2 years ago and the day after we got him, I got pet insurance. Even though we've paid every month, we've never had to use it until the last several weeks. Trupanion came thru and let me worry about taking care of my dog, rather than how I'm going to pay for the services. Thank you Trupanion!!!

I wish my medical insurance was this good.
So far we are very happy with this pet insurance policy. Our pup is so well taken care of; and it is a group effort now with Nationwide. Our dog is very healthy and even the veterinarian has complemented us on our care for the sweet animal and the fact that we have an insurance policy for her. An awesome insurance policy provided by Nationwide. Thanks to everyone at Nationwide for doing it right!

Absolutely delighted
We have had Siri insured with Trupanion since he was a puppy (he’s now 12), and had only made two previous small claims, for minor injuries. I will admit I was nervous about this claim, because it was for a LARGE amount, and costs are likely to be ongoing. But Trupanion handled the claim quickly and without fuss, paying all the costs aside from our deductible and 10% co-pay. We are delighted with the service we received, and would recommend the company to anyone looking for reliable pet insurance at a reasonable cost.

Complete waste of money and time
Petsecure has done nothing but take our money, and not cover a SINGLE treatment for our dog, all because of their intentional and ridiculous clauses/etc in their policy (yes - my fault for not reading them in advance, but I trusted that their policy would be reasonable enough to cover at least some portion of any treatments my dog may need... boy was I wrong). Save yourselves the $, headache and time of dealing with this company.

super simple and no fuss in processing
When a small bump appeared inside my weiner dog's (Julio) ear I figured it'd be best to keep an eye on it. Over night it nearly doubled in size and that's when my wife and I knew it was something that couldn't wait. Thankfully our wonderful vet was able to get Julio in for surgery that morning so that we could scope and run tests. We're just as thankful for having the support of the animal lovers at Nationwide because making sure your pup is in top shape isn't always cheap, but it certainly helps you to rest easier at night. Great news: insurance offset most of the cost AND our lil guy came home with a clean bill of health! Thank you Nationwide! Carla, Holmes, Niko, Julio and Gracie

HUGE Increase in Premiums Every Year!
I have been a customer of Healthy Paws for over 5 years now. I've had two of my pets covered with Healthy Paws within that time. I've never experienced huge increases in premiums with my first pet's insurance. She was covered for nearly 4 years, but that pet has since passed. Currently, I only have one pet covered since Jan 2016 with a premium of $39.72/month. After one year it increased slightly to $43.70/month, which is reasonable. However, the next year it jumped to $54.18/month, and they just raised it again to $67.81/month this year. These are substantial increases, which they justify as increased cost of vet care. They really put pet owners in a bind and forcing them to choose between what they can afford and their pet's life. Starting over with a new pet insurance company will make our pet ineligible for certain coverage based on new health conditions that have been found since then. Healthy Paws says that rates are not affected by the number or nature of the claims that we submit, but I do not believe them. Unfortunately, we have had to submit many claims for our accident prone dog, so it's a suspicious coincidence that the premiums keep jumping up. I am not a happy customer of Healthy Paws and hate how they are taking advantage of the situation that many other pet owners will face.

My pet insurance works well!
I like Nationwide, they do a great job covering most major medical. I don’t think the preventative/wellness plan is a very good deal. I don’t usually get much back from that. But they are responsive and I get my refunds back in reasonable amount of time!

It's nice to not worry about going to the vet.
Our dog, Layla, is a good, overall healthy pup, but she has had some random setbacks that have caused us to see some pretty hefty vet bills in the first few months of her life. First a UTI that she had trouble shaking, and then a tooth that grew in funny (so funny, in fact, that the vet had never seen anything like it). After that bill, I decided to ask my HR about the pet insurance they provided through Nationwide. It has been a wonderful experience ever since. We take her to get her heartworm medicine and flea medicine, and anytime something comes up (like an especially gunk filled eye), we don't worry about taking her because we know that just about everything is covered. The deductible was not hard to get to, because as I said, Layla isn't an ill dog, she's just got some random weird incidents that have caused us to raise an eyebrow at our vet bills, and while you do have to pay out of pocket at the vet, it's very easy to send in a claim right away and they reimburse you in about a month. My only complaint would be that when I filed my first claim or two, I had some trouble finding the claims paperwork to fill out. But now that I've done it a few times, it's fairly simple. I've never experienced any kind of problem where they didn't want to pay, and everything is always straightforward. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, especially if you find yourself going to the vet for the most random things. They do restrict on some things, like if they decide your dog has a pre-existing condition, they won't cover things under that. But if your dog is healthy for an extended period of time and doesn't have any incidents with what they've decided is pre-existing, I believe you can provide them with your dog's medical records again and ask for the pre-existing condition to be removed. We will be doing that sometime soon (the UTI got marked as a pre-existing condition for bladder problems) and I will know for sure. But for the past six months, it has been very nice not worrying about going to the vet.

Horrifying insurance, STAY AWAY
Absolutely terrible. Have had petsecure for over a year now, was promised coverage and got $50 from a $300+ doctors visit for my cat. They will do everything possible to not cover your claims. They say that they cover regular check ups but THEY DO NOT. Ended up cancelling my insurance for both of my cats and got called 2 months later saying i owe them the money that i haven’t paid in those 2 months because i did not write them an email saying i would like to cancel, even though i had called and talked to a CSR & she did not advise me that i would need to make such an email. Ended up arguing with this “supervisor” and had her threaten that it will be sent to collections because i am not paying. Incredibly rude and they do not care about anything except the money they are after. Wish i could give a 0 rating. Absolutely disgusted with Petsecure and would not recommend to anyone. Waste of time & money.
