Wonderful peace of mind with pet insurance
Purchasing pet insurance with Nationwide was one of the best decisions we made for our pet. I have peace of mind knowing we are covered for the unexpected, plus the coverage of routine care is amazing.

Expensive for peace of mind, long processing times.
This is expensive for peace of mind. I plan to set up a savings plan for my dogs for health services in lieu of this insurance. Processing also takes too long. Over a month before you are reimbursed for any expenses. The EOBs don't tell you where you are with meeting your deductible. Only that you haven't met it for them to pay. So you will need to keep your own tally of expenses.

Way too many claims deemed ineligible
Because, I have been paying well over 100/mo for years and have way too many claims deemed ineligible for being a preexisting condition. An ear infection Come on.

Check Tracking?!?
Although I like Trupanion I've yet to receive a claim check in the mail as it stated it was sent in the email I received for initial invoices. As bills are starting to add up there is no way to check the status of that check or where it is at.

Just love how fast trupanion processes our claims. My little guy Oliver has had many trips to the vet's office since we got him and it's been a great comfort knowing that we don't have to worry about the financial part of the visit. Their rates are fair.

I was not aware that Trupanion did not contribute to the HST paid on services.
I was not aware that Trupanion did not contribute to the HST paid on services. So in reality, you only pay for 77% of services, not 90%, and the pet owner is responsible for 10% the full 13% HST which is not insignificant.
