Definitely Pays to have insurance
Most of my dogs are covered by insurance - like any other insurance, sometimes you don't need it but when you do, it's quite helpful with the costs. Easy to file claims, an acknowledgment is sent via email with 24 hours and the process is quick. It's expensive but worth it.

Sometimes illness over rides coverage terms
Annie was experieincing pain while eating and had horrible breath. When I took her to our vet she said Annie had numerous bad teeth. She needed relief and I had the procedure done, which resulted in 5 teeth being pulled. I remembered last August, she had a similar issue. I never imagined most the procedure costs would not be covered because I was within a couple weeks of her renewal. I could not let Annie go on in that condition and as a responsible pet owner agreed with the procedure. I am once again, out of pocket for vet bills in 2019. I have 6 animals and am paying high premiums for all. I caution anyone who would consider this insurance because when you need it to come through, it does not.

With your help, I am able to take my pet to the vet more often than I ever did!
I am so glad that I finally took the leap in getting Nationwide Pet Insurance. I was never aware of pet insurance until my dog got older. I wish I had it sooner. But now that we have it, I am taking my dog to the vet more frequently, not just when he's sick, but for preventative reasons too. Having Nationwide Pet insurance makes it easy for me to get the care I need for my dog without having to worry about spending tons of money, as vet bills can be incredibly high. It is so easy to file a claim and receiving your reimbursement is as quick as can be. Thank you for making this a smooth process. I have recommended this service to all my pet owner friends and will continue to be a customer for as long as I have pets!

Such a relief
This is my first time having Pet Insurance. And I’m so happy I did it. Having the security for when an emergency happens makes everything so much better. Vet bills are expensive! I can afford a monthly payment but can not afford an unexpected large Vet bill. The claim was processed within a few days and in my bank account a day or two after that! I’ve recommended this to anyone and everyone that has pets

HUGE premium ($110 monthly and NO COVERAGE FOR AN ACUTE BOUT OF DIARRHEA!
Trupanion is a bad company. My dog is a small, healthy mixed breed, and is now 11 years old. I have been paying through the nose for Trupanion since he was 7 years old. He had a about of acute hemhorraghic gastroenturitis and they denied the claim, saying it was a "pre-exisiting condition" after the online customer service rep said it was denied because it was dietary indiscretion that caused it. I told her the vets were not sure what caused it. Then she said it was a pre-existing condition because he had it in 2015!!!!! 4 years ago my dog had bloddy diarrhea and is a chronic, pre-existing condition. All medical info on the subject agrees that there is no way to knowwhy a dog has a bout of this. It could be stress. It could be a virus. It could be dietary indiscretion. Do you mean to tell me that if a big old lab eats a bag of rocks, they wont cover emergency services because of dietary indiscretion? REALLY? Wow, then why dont they cover socialized adult people instead of dogs?

INSURANCE THAT GIVES YOU A PEACE OF MIND WHEN EMERGENCIES ARISE
I LOVE this insurance and literally recommend it to anyone who has a pet. There have been several times in which I've had an emergency with our shiba Cooper and both times, I didn't have to channel my energy towards the stress of the bill. All I worried about was just making sure my boy was going to be okay. Recently, Cooper had a seizure (never happened before, cause unknown) and I rushed him to the nearest vet. From there I had to take him to a 24 hour hospital to be monitored. I then had to take him to our regular vet a few weeks later because he had allergies that were so bad he started rubbing his skin raw. This was all in one month so I was worried Healthy Paws may give me a hard time or question all 3 claims. But nope, everything went smoothly and the claims are so easy to submit. I will NEVER not have dog insurance again and I recommend this to EVERYONE who owns a pet.
