Excellent service
I am very happy with Nationwide pet insurance. They make it easy to file a claim. I recently had an unexpected vet bill that they helped to cover. You have to pay up front, but they reimburse you very quickly. I am glad to have them. They are affordable and they have different levels of coverage.

Insurance should pay for more wellness
My Austrailian shepherd mix suffers from Anal gland problems which means we need to take her every 4 to 6 weeks to have them expressed. If we don't see scoots on her behind and will cause skin irritations, etc. and the gland will still be swollen till we take her to we vet. We do this to make her comfortable, and ward off any other issues. Don't understand why this isn't covered!!! Seriously thinking of looking into another pet insurance, we've used VPI and now Nationwide for years wanted to stay w the company we started with. Time will tell. look around and compare benefits.

So simple to submit claims!
It's hard to choose a pet insurance company because there are so many options, I'm so glad I chose Figo! The mobile app is very easy to use and it's so simple to submit claims. Some of my claims have taken a week or two to complete but I've had others that closed within hours. Reimbursement goes straight into my bank account. I love having the peace of mind for our pup's health, I never want to have to decline a needed medical procedure due to cost, and now we don't need to worry.

So glad I purchased vet insurance 9 years ago!!
Our Kierra is getting up in age- we purchased insurance when she was 3 after finally paying off the dreaded “vet bill credit card” and swearing we were not going back in debt with vet bills again. Over the years it has paid for itself and more- Kierra is aging and has developed some health issues that have required regular testing and costly exams with a specialty vet, not to mention a good bit of medication. Having insurance has allowed us to give her the best care possible to keep her comfortable and happy during her golden years.

Watch for pre existing condition .
My 9 year old German Shepard had to have surgery on the both of her legs. They would not cover the second leg even though it was several years after the first stating it was pre existing since the other leg had the same problem. They didn’t have a problem collecting my premiums for five years, but when it comes to paying, they fine a reason not to pay. They would not give me a refund for anything including the premiums I had paid for many years.

It’s worth it!
I have been paying into this plan for a year and a half. I’m so glad I made the decision to buy this insurance! Recently my dog suffered multiple herniated discs and lost his ability to walk. Surgery was one of two options with the latter being euthanasia. Thanks to this insurance paying 90% ish (exam fees were excluded) of the total cost I didn’t even have to consider euthanasia. The dog is on the mend and within 5 days the reimbursement was in my account.

They make every ridiculous excuse possible to not pay
They denied to pay for biopsies saying that they don’t pay for “visits”. And they also used every other ridiculous reason to deny all of our claims in the past 2 years we had insurance with them. $100+ monthly premiums were a total waste of money. If we had instead saved those premiums, they would have covered all the expenses we had for veterinarians in the last two years.
