Incompetent & Terrible Company

What a completely incompetent & terrible company. I will be filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner in my state. Their website is non-functional for submitting claims - keep getting error messages when trying to update a claim. Request for updating a claim is unclear and I believe fraudulent for not processing the claim in the first place Chat has been disabled because of high volume - gee wonder why that is!? Save your time and go with Healthy Paws - they are total professionals unlike these clowns

My initial feedback on Prudent Pet is…

My initial feedback on Prudent Pet is that it has been challenging to use every step of the way. The forms were not all sent, veterinarians cannot upload forms to the site, the chat feature is not working. Overall a cumbersome and not user-friendly experience.

They make it impossible to cancel your policy.

Final update 01/14/2026: they finally cancelled my plan and are refunding me a whole $4.15. Lol. I have been attempting to cancel my policy since 12/31/2025. The first attempt was through email. I then sent two faxes (one on 01/03/2025 and one on 01/05/2025, respectively). I reached someone through their customer support on the phone on 01/06/2025, who at first tried to claim I never explicitly stated to cancel in the email (?? lol, email, which I wish I could attach a screenshot of, was in front of my face when she tried to say that). She then assured me I would get a confirmation email by the end of the week. Mind you, Pet’s Best FAQ states they respond to such requests in 3-5 business days. It is now 01/12/2025, my Pet’s Best account still shows as active with my bill due tomorrow, and I never received a confirmation of cancellation from them. If I do get billed tomorrow, it would absolutely be fraud at this point. Update to come on that (UPDATE on 01/13/2025: they billed me, which means they STILL haven’t cancelled my plan after FOUR attempts over 13 days. Waiting on a representative now). Their hold times are ridiculous, their email seems to have no one staffed, and their “live” chat literally just tells you to call as they don’t have any actual agents for that channel of communication. Do yourself a favor and cover your pet literally anywhere else before you get trapped into a plan you can’t get out of.

Could not process my claim online

Could not process my claim online. Had to call and then submit via email. Pets Best needs to fix their technology platform. Transition did not go well. And then because we did our wellness check 7 days before auto-renewal, Pets Best did not cover the full amount of the claim. So much for being efficient...
