This insurance has been a blessing. Our puppy developed health problems unexpectedly. Because we had insurance, she is able to get the care she needs. Trupanion has honored their agreement and pays all of the claims.

Responses are not received in a timely fashion.
Responses are not received in a timely fashion. My claim was denied unfairly and now I have to appeal it. I was told the rep would reach out to the vet and now days later I am told I need to get the form filled out by the vet. I explained why the claim should be considered under a previous deductible but no one even acknowledged it.

Trupanion is Fast, Easy and Honest.
The hospital was online with Trupanion, the deductible and copays were accurately deducted, and the hospital was paid asap, allowing me to only go out of pocket what was required. Seemless and helpful. All charges were approved before I was required to pay copay, deductible, etc.

Embrace is the absolute worst pet insurer ever - they care nothing about their clients and lie about their coverage
Embrace is the absolute worst insurer - I would caution everyone against using them. They are refusing to cover my dog's orthopedic issues, even though they were not pre-existing. Not only that, it took me months to get them to review, and then weeks of begging them to respond. They never did. Plus you have to wait hours on the phone to speak with someone. I will never use them again. They are a terrible organization.

The cost of the policy is worth it! I have had to bring my cat in on several occasions and yes its not secret that vet bills can impact someone financially but very grateful for trupanion and how the coverage works and how fast my invoice was reviewed and approved. Jasper thanks you!

If you are planning on getting a dog, you NEED Trupanion.
When my husband and I found our dog, Harvey, we purchased Trupanion the same day. We had hopes that we would never have to use it, and it would just be for an accident or if something happened we wouldn't have to question getting him the medical help he needed. At two years old, Harvey was diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy and he had to go see a Veterinary Neurologist. When they said the price of the MRI and Spinal Tap, I didn't even flinch, because I knew we had Trupanion. Two weeks later (and after a year and a half of skin infections and ear infections), Harvey had to go see a Veterinary Dermatologist and go through allergy testing. Again, I didn't flinch when they said the price, because I knew we had Trupanion (and already met our deductible!). Harvey now takes 3,000mg of Keppra a day and is on twice weekly allergy shots (with the occasional CADI Injection from his wonderful Veterinarian!) We submitted close to $4,000 to Trupanion in a matter of a 4 week period. Within a week of submitting the claim the money was deposited back into my bank account. If we didn't have Trupanion, it would of been choosing between paying for something and paying for Harvey's medical bills. I will never have to make that choice, EVER. There will never be a time that I have to worry about Harvey's health or well being. I never imagined that our dog would have Idiopathic Epilepsy or allergies (where he needed shots). I can't recommend to get Trupanion enough when you get a dog. We adopted our second lab almost a year ago, the day we picked her up we also signed up for Trupanion. It looks like she might have to go through allergy testing as well, but I'll never have to worry about her either.
