Claims Processing A+

When one looks for Pet Insurance you hear all kinds of horror stories. We narrowed our choice down to two carriers one of which was Trupanion.Their sales department was a delight to work with answering all of our questions. But over time we have learned that Sales and Marketing is one thing and Claims another. In the case of Trupanion I cannot say enough good thing about how our recent claim was handled. The Claim was promptly attended to, with all policy coverage and guidelines followed, and prompt payment made. I am happy to report we made a good decision in insuring with Trupanion.

Trupanion is the best insurance for your pet.

My dog Brody was hurt on the ice at the dog park. She needed immediate surgery to repair the carpal pad on her foot. Trupanion was there to help me from the Emergency Vet Clinic to daily updates on my claim. Trupanion's Customer Care is excellent, devoted and will be with you every step of the way. Thank You Sandy

good experience

I have a 3 year old Russian Blue cat. Recently he became very ill where he had thrown up over *20* times in a 12 hour period. I rushed him to the after hours emergency vet once I got home and saw the small piles of vomit all over my home. He received great care and the day after I faxed in my claim to trupanion. Within 2 days I received my first email. The communication was great. I received numerous emails with updates so I never felt I had to call for more information. The processing was just under a week. I was satisfied with the 90% payout which helped greatly, however was disappointed that the $165 emergency vet fee was not covered. My cat was in dire need of vet care and to find out that this fee was not covered did not sit well with me. What else was I supposed to do with my cat?

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
