There is no other pet insurance company that does.

My 1.5 year old foster Pit Bull needed a surgery to freeze and remove the eyelashes growing on the inside of her eyelid. And an ophthalmologist had to do it. Trupanion came through (as expected) and was very speedy with their handling of getting the procedure pre - approved (which guaranteed reimbursement) and processing the claim with payment. They're very transparent, and I like that they offer only one simple plan that covers 90% of accidents and illnesses.

The best thing I ever did for my fur baby!!!!

Even though my fur baby is only a year old, I am so happy that I enrolled her with Trupanion. When an unexpected condition arose, I knew I would be able to provide the medical care she needed. Numerous visits and prescriptions have been reimbursed into my checking account within 2 weeks.

Trupanion works well, walks the walk.

Have submitted two claims to Trupanion for stifle surgeries for my 2 year old dog, Dexter. They paid as we expected in a timely manner. The process was straightforward, all contacts with personnel were cordial, friendly, responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Solid insurance company with a heart

This Wonderful company helped me get my dog through a tough and expensive surgery (about 9k) and the subsequent care. With every contact, the representatives all seemed caring and concerned about my dog. Every time I submitted a bill they processed it quickly. I am pleased that I have this insurance.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
