Trupanion pet Insurance ensured my 12 year old dog got prompt and thorough care.

Trupanion pet Insurance ensured my 12 year old dog got prompt and thorough care. He randomly developed a Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus late at night knowing we had insurance coverage for what ever the vet needed to do I was able to tell the Vet to do EVERYTHING they could do to save my babies life. He survived the sugery and was in the hospitals ICU for 2 days and 2 nights. They covered everything!! We paid the emergancy vet fees, the deductible and 10%, Trupanion covered everything else including the perscription dog food and all the medications. I could not be any happier with the service we received from Trupanion . They saved my dogs life.

I would give it 0 stars if possible

I would give it 0 stars if possible. I did the 30 day trial, and I had multiple claims put in and they didn't cover a single damn thing. This insurance company is a waste of time and money. The only way you can possibly benefit from these insurance companies is if you put your pet under a policy right at birth other than that, you're screwed.

Worth it for me

I’ve had Trupanion insurance on my dog for 13 years and she has health issues. After my vet appointments they submit the claim right on site. I no longer have to submit them myself. It’s processed in seconds. I have a new rescue and will be insuring her as well.

Looking for a gift for your dog?

Trupanion was the half birthday present I gave my new puppy. I am so glad I invested in her rather than toys that she already has plenty of! Pet insurance has changed SO MUCH since I tried insuring my first puppy 20 years ago and it wasn't worth it ... I will be the first to tell you it is DEFINITELY worth it today! A harmless walk down by the river on the weekend to enjoy the Spring weather changed my pup in the blink of an eye ... I have always kept a dog account for emergencies, but for the first time I am seeing how simple things like care for vomiting can add up fast! I have not had to worry about ANYTHING except loving my girl, the vet clinic deals directly with Trupanion and service is RAPID between the two.Before the emergency arose I was also enjoying the information emails I get with tips for caring for my pup. I did investigate two other companies, but Trupanion was by far the best! With my next dog I will definitely be signing them up as a Gotcha Day present rather than waiting to mark a milestone!

Terrible company

Terrible company. If your pet has a pre-existing condition, DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. No matter what new condition your pet has, they will aleays DENY coverage saying it is related to the pre-exisying condition, even if it is CLEARLY NOT and you involve the vet clinic to explain things. They do not trust the clinic either. Trupanion has horrible coverage policies and service is awful as well. They always make things difficult. They claim to be easy with process, but they are NOT. They don't cover dental procedures either. If you can, run away from this company. Get PetSecure. My experience is way better with that one. I regret tremendously getting Trupanion. RUN AWAY!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
