Excellent and Quick Claims Service

My dog was diagnosed with diabetes three months ago. We had a difficult time regulated our 8 year old Scottish Terrier's blood glucose level and required many, many visits to the vet. The vet submitted the claims and a week later a check from Trupanion arrived in the mail, making a very stressful situation a bit less stressful since we did not have to worry about the finances. Getting Trupanion for our dog was the best decision we ever made.

So disappointed

Been a paying policyholder for 7 years and finally needed the insurance. Dog had surgery to remove lumps, one of which was cancerous. Trupanion identified each of the four lumps a separate CONDITION. Each CONDITION, not the +$3K surgery/illness, was subject to my $1000 deductible. WhAT A Shock that the illness was not covered!

Trupanion is the BEST - Hands Down!!

We rescued two Golden puppies from a backyard breeder - both of them have had health issues since the outset. We purchased the insurance when the pups were 3 mos old - they're 5 now. Trupanion and the staff there have ALWAYS been extremely helpful and very good about working with us to get our boys the care they need. The claim process is simple and efficient, claims are settled very quickly. They're fair and are not looking for a way to deny a claim!! I honestly love them. I've sent numerous people to them for their pet insurance...even my vet recommends them now!!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
