Rate hike every year

They say the rate is not affected by your dog aging but my rates have gone up every year to the point they are now over 30$ more than when I first started. They will tell you it is based on the average cost per bread in that area but no way has it gone up that much especially year after year. False advertising and poor rates compared to everyone else. Never again.

Excellent Response Time

My Yorkshire Terrier had pneumonia as a 3 month old and Trupanion covered her care. She is now 8 years old; recently had complicated knee surgery and was diagnosed with a partially collapsed trachea. Having insurance allowed the veterinarians to do the testing and treatment necessary to treat these problems. Trupanion has been prompt in reimbursing the 90% vet expenses. She would not have been able to have the $4,000 knee surgery without the insurance.

great company, always very helpful

We have 2 yellow labs that we have insured with trupanion since they were puppies. We could not be happier with the customer service and promptness of payment whenever we have had to file a claim.

Trupanion has been unbelievably great!

We decided on pet insurance when we adopted a large mix breed puppy from a pet rescue. When our dog was two and a half we found that he has severe liver damage and is very sick. This has been a long and expensive process and Trupanion has been wonderful. They went back to an earlier visit that showed high liver enzymes and tied it together with then current claim. I have not had to call them and ask about reimbursement they just send me checks.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
