Outstanding service!

We have had Trupanion policies for several years, and we recently learned just how grateful we are to have them. Our dog needed a $1,500 surgery unexpectedly and Trupanion worked with me the night before to get the procedure pre-approved so they could pay our vet directly. It was such a blessing to not have to pay out of pocket up front. The customer service we received was fantastic, and the timeliness of responses and claims payments far exceeded my expectations!

Grateful!!!

We fostered then adopted Luca from a shelter almost 3 years ago and when his knee gave away all of a sudden we were told he most probably needs replacement knee surgery. With more investigations like XRays it showed that the other knee ligament was ruptured too. Long story short double knee surgery was a little over 6k but thank goodness Trupanion paid 4k so we were extremely grateful!!! Thank you Trupanion, from the bottom of our grateful hearts!

These people are crooks!

Trupanion is refusing to cover our dog's treatment because they have dug up some old notes from the vet and are using a conversation I had with the vet to claim a pre-existing condition, even though our vet has written a clear letter indicating that there is no proof of a pre-existing condition based on his diagnosis. The vet told us that they have been finding any reason to deny claims and to not have to pay out. We are going to take legal action against this company. DO NOT USE THEM.

Great insurance / great experience

Have had Trupanion for 5 yrs for my dog, a wonderful rescue. For last 2 yes she's had a couple of issues including hospitalization for 3 days. My bill was over $4000! Trupanion was wonderful-- they provided a pre hospitalization estimate so I knew what was covered and what wasn't. They covered most expense at 90%!! Not even people insurance does that. I received my reimbursement even before my credit bill arrived and most importantly the people I spoke to were so nice, professional and caring. Try to get that elsewhere. My monthly premium is worth it -- and now they cover dental -- my vet couldn't believe it until she read my policy and is now letting her patients know. Trupanion is the BEST👏🐾👌

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
