Remember you are dealing with insurance claims adjusters!

I realize some people will try to "defraud" insurance companies when they submit claims, but to basically be called a "liar" and then never even consider a formulary based drug on a claim - who is the liar?

Love the fact they care customers. My boy passed few months after the renewal. They offered partial refund of renewal fee, also paid all cancer treatment. I'll choose PetsBest for all my pets.

Multiple Pets Insured

All of my pets (4 cats, 1 dog) have been insured with Pets Best since ownership began. The company has always been responsive and it's a pleasure to get a real person in real time when calling. No robots or multiple recorded options. The company responds quickly and deposits any reimbursements into my checking account in a timely fashion. My only areas of dissatisfaction, which I'm sure could be said of any other company: 1 - Dental procedures for conditions such as gingivitis are not covered. Since gum and tooth diseases can lead to multiple health issues, i.e., heart, kidney, etc., this seems to be a case of false economy. It is far less expensive to cover mouth issues than to cover organ diseases. 2-As pets get older, the premiums increase exponentially, sometimes leading pet owners to have to choose between risking the odds of maintaining the health of a senior pet vs. paying very sizable premiums. I would recommend that everyone begin insuring pets as soon as they are rescued or adopted, since anything that occurs before insurance kicks in would be considered pre-existing. Once a pet is insured and an illness occurs, Pets Best will not exclude that condition.

Two dogs - amazing customer Service

My Emma and Olivia had Pets Best. I loved the ability to tailor the plan for them. Emma had aggressive lymphoma cancer, but I got to say yes to try to save her. My Olivia just passed away on Jan 15th. She had colon cancer and had successful surgery in Sept. She got her spark and health and weight back. I think the 13 year old heart oF this abused stray was just tired. She had her personality back. She died at home in my arms. Your insurance name fits you. You are Pets Best and Pets mama's best! Your responsiveness is great; Customer Service is awesome and policies are real. I haven’t been without a dog since 1984–so I will be a returning customer—probably soon!

Cut in the Chase, Fixed in a Flash!

I have two Border Collies so I just Knew that at some stage in their active lives they'd be in need of surgery! Both have now had minor issues that required some vet work. Most recently Murphy needed several stitches to a cut paw. Pets Best is the Best for Pets! Easy claims process, no arguments on review. No annoying wait times to talk to someone and then the runaround - Pets Best is user friendly, customer focused, engaged, responsive and always ready with good advice. People thought I was mad buying dog insurance, but it has paid off and over the course of their (hopefully) long lives, probably will again.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
