Caveat Emptor
I have a new puppy under 5 months. He hurt his leg, I take him to the vet and file a claim. DENIED!! They say it's a pre-exsisting injury. What!!
Stay Away!! They do not pay claims.

HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE! The worst experience i have ever had with an insurance company. When I adopted my pup she had a free month of insurance with AKC and then I switched to your insurance and she had a minor issue with possibly swallowing something that caused loose stools and I called my vet and she went on flagyl. She then improved . When I saw my vet a week later she was fine and got her shots. Then the following week she started having loose stools and could have been a reaction to the shots, but it continued for a few weeks so my vet wanted to rule out anything serious. My pup then saw the specialist and had ~ $700 worth of tests which ruled out cancer, EPI etc. and possibly might be an allergy to chicken which is in everything pup's eat even her heartworm pills. To make a long story short your insurance won't cover anything related to her diarhea which is outrageous. She was a 2 1/2 month old pup and they have sensitive tummies so to call this pre- existing condition is BS!

Policy is exactly as it claims to be
I have had Pets Best since 2012 and every claim I have submitted has been processed exactly the way I thought it would be. For the items I know they don't cover- they didn't but all other illness related stuff has been covered after I have met my deductible at 80%. No secrets, no hidden agendas- they are very transparent on what they will cover and not cover before you sign up. I have been very pleased with pets best. They are not cheap esp as your pet ages but the peace of mind if something big arises is worth the cost. All insurance companies are the same on what they will cover, etc and this one is quite fast on claims processing most of the time and all questions are answered when contacting customer service. I have referred them to others and will continue to since it's a great health care company for pets. The rates do jump quite high from year to year but the cost of animal care is getting as expensive as human care. Thank you Pets Best for all the help you have given Milo and Mason over the last several years. We appreciate it.

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).

The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method.

Payout Limits
$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan.
Unlimited lifetime limits.
Deductible
$50 – $1,000 annually.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll.
Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.
Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
