Pets Best is clear and fair with claims.

I filed two claims on a Friday. I received my explanation of benefits on one Monday morning and the other later in the week. My reimbursement was direct deposited by the end of the week. Pets Best has been very clear and fair about what they cover and very prompt at handling claims!

Pets Best is playing a huge part in getting our girl back to healthy.

We never considered pet insurance until my daughter's 8 year old maltipoo had to be put asleep after a spinal injury. We looked at a few different companies and decided on Pets Best for our 2 Maltese ages 5 and 6. The 5 year old maltipoo had been very healthy. After about 1 month on the plan she had diarrhea. We thought it was something that an injection and some medication would take care of. But it did not get better. After multiple vet visits and bringing in a specialist, she was diagnosed with protein losing enteropathy. Her protein and albumin levels were very low, she lost weight and you could feel her rib cage and spine when you would pet her. After 4 months of medications and close monitoring, she is starting to turn the corner and get better. Pets Best has been wonderful during the process. All claims have been paid timely and as expected. We thank Pets Best for playing a huge part in hopefully getting our girl back to health.

Greatest Letdown

Pets Best let me down in the worst way. They used my pet-incident insurance and grouped three of my dogs condition as one incident, therefore monumentally cutting my benefits. I was told if I got supportive letters and medical records, I would most definitely have my benefits extended so I submitted letters from two veterinary specialists, a cardiologist and an internal medicine doctor and they did not overturn the decision. My dog passed away this summer from her illnesses which was devastating and even worse was feeling the injustice of not being given the security I thought I had from her insurance policy. This company will happily take your money and increase your premiums as your dog gets sicker and older but when medical crisis strikes, do NOT expect their support. Animal lovers are the kindest breed of humans and that is who they prey on. I’m so sad, sharing this in memory of my sweet baby Riley.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
